Site Inventory

Site Selection Criteria

To be able to identify the best and suitable site location for the project proposal. There are
several criteria to be considered to meet the requirements or need of the proposal.

Major Criteria (70%)

Topography (20%)

The possible site location must be suitable for the project proposal. It should be flat or gently
slope terrain.

Accessibility (30%)

The site should not be obstructed by crossings on major streets and intersections, narrow or
winding streets that may cause heavy traffics. The site must be reachable by emergency response
vehicles.

Location (20%)

The site must be close to libraries, parks, museums and other community services. Should also
have a favorable orientation to wind and natural lighting.

Minor Criteria (30%)

Environment (10%)

The site should be free from sources air, water and soil pollution. Free from smoke, dust, odors
and pesticide spray. Should provide aesthetic view from and of the site.

Safety (10%)

The site must be located in the area that far enough in any kind of harmful and hazardous area such as
flood, landslide, and earthquake.

Utilities (10%)

The site should have the availability of water, electricity, gas and sewer. Should also have the feasibility
of bringing utilities to site.
Gross Site Selection

Bataan Peninsula is one of the Philippine Island of Luzon. It has an area approximately 1,373 sq. km. this
island is surrounded of bodies of water also know as Manila Bay. Province of Bataan is composed of 11
municipalities and one of them is a city called Balanga City. The Battle of Bataan is famous in history as
one of the last stands of American and Filipino soldiers before they were overwhelmed by the
Japanese forces in World War II. The Bataan Death March was named after the province, where the
infamous march started. apart from that, the province is rich in natural wonders and other cultural
destinations. 

Geography

Location/Boundaries

Bataan is a peninsula that bounded by the West Philippines Sea


and at the east by Manila Bay. Province of Bulacan, Pampanga, and
Zambales are located in the north of Bataan.

Total Land Area

Bataan has a total land area of 137,296 hectares or 1,373.0


square kilometer. Compared to all province of Central Luzon, Bataan is
the smallest province that equivalent to 7.51% of the whole Central
Luzon.

Population

The total population of the Province of Bataan was 760,650 persons in year 2015 and compared
to 2010 census the population increase by 73,168 persons. The annual population growth rate of 2010
to 2015 is 1.94% and of this growth rate will continue the population of Bataan will double in 35 years.

Topography

The whole land area of Bataan is composed of 80.9 percent of uplands, hills and mountain while
the remaining 19.1 percent is the lowlands such as generally flat, gently rising towards the hills.
Agricultural is the most compromising portion of Bataan are found along the north and eastern coast
facing in Manila Bay.
Drainage

With the use of numerous rivers, streams and creeks with very few meanders radiating and
sloping from the mountain groups going down to the sea draining the whole area. There are hundreds of
rivers located in Bataan that will helps not only in irrigation but also for navigation and fishing.

Climate

Bataan is fall under type 1 in the Coronas System. There are wet and dry season. The rainy
season start on the month of May and ends up around the month of October then the rest of the year is
dry season with occasional rains dispersed throughout Bataan.

Site A: BRGY. TENEJERO, BALANGA CITY, BATAAN


Site A is located at Brgy. Tenejjero, Balanga, Bataan along the Bataan Provincial Highway and Fiscal
Camacho St. It has an area of 3.53 hectares.

Advantages:

 The site is along to existing roads.


 The site is near to the institutional area such as schools, hospitals and government facilities.
 The site is rich in vegetation

Disadvantages

 The site has a slight slope which can be flatten easily


Site B: Freeport Area of Bataan at Mariveles, Bataan.

Site B is located on the Freeport Area of Bataan at Mariveles, Bataan, beside Dunlop International Inc. It
has an area of 6.98 hectares.
Advantages:

 The site is has an access to road networks.


 The site is within the freeport zone in Mariveles, Bataan which
 The site is large which is good for future expansions.

Disadvantages:

 The site is within industrial area which is not appropriate for the project.

Site C: Brgy. Tuyo, Balanga, Bataan

Site C is located at Brgy. Tuyo, Balanga Bataan along Enrique Garcia Senior Avenue and the National
Road. It has an area of 5.39 hectares.
Advantages:

 The site is along the road.


 The site is near to the commercial zone.
 The site is near to the public terminal which is good for the project’s visitors.

Disadvantages:

 The site is prone to flood which can cause the project harm.

Site justification

The Likert Scale shows the three possbile site location for the project proposal. Site A got 88% of the
total site selection criteria, then Site B with 81% and Site C with 84%.

Base on the table above the most suitable site location of the project proposal is Site A located
in Brgy. Tenejero, Balanga, Bataan. It has access to road networks and in near to intitutional areas within
the city.

The Proposal will be located at Brgy. Tenejero, Balanga, Bataan. The site can be access through
Bataan Provincial Highway or Fiscal Camacho St.

Functional Site Diagram

The map shows the arrangement of public area, semi-public area, private area, and future expansion.
Public area is the common area for the visitors such as park, garden, parking and other communal area.
Semi-public is where the main building is located. The private area is the place for the storage,
maintenance and utility service is located. Last is the future expansion for future development.

Balanga is bounded on the north by Abucay; on the east by Manila Bay; on the west by the mountains of
Bagac and Morong; and on the south by Pilar, that is separated from it only by the river Talisay, which
starts in the mountains of Mariveles and travels from the southwest to the northeast direction. The
town is situated on a low plain and during the rainy season.
Despite the ravages of fire, Balanga has many large structures. One of the oldest provincial government
buildings in the archipelago is found in this town. It was erected in 1729.

The map presented the climatic and sensory analysis. The climatic analysis shows the sun path form the
site with wind path also of southwest which is the warm air and northeast monsoon the cold air. The
sensory analysis shows the source of noise pollution, and base on the map above the source of noise
pollution are coming from the superhighway and the nearest community.
