Ques 1 Write five positive & negative qualities which affect

relationship among group members according to you and why?

Answer A group refers to two or more individuals who come together with a common objective.
There are several positive and negative factors that affect the relationship of the group members
with each other.

POSITIVE QUALITIES
1. Honesty
According to me, honesty is one of the most important factor in building healthy relationships in a
group . A team member should be honest about their achievements as well as their shortcomings.
Everyone makes mistakes from time to time, but when people try to shift the blame and weave false
narratives, chaos and conflicts can occur. When there is authenticity instead of falsehood, it helps
in creating deeper relationships. When team members relate to one another better, they also
produce greater results.

2. Cooperation
Cooperation is the act of working with others and acting together to accomplish a job. Effective
group member, despite differences that they may have with other team members concerning style
and perspective, figure out ways to work together to solve problems and get work done. They
respond to requests for assistance and take the initiative to offer help. This helps in maintaining
cordial relations with each other.

3. Flexibility
Groups often deal with changing conditions. Group players must know how to adapt to ever-
changing situations instead of complaining or getting stressed out because something new is being
tried or some new direction is being set. A good group member must consider different points of
views and compromise when needed. He or she doesn’t hold rigidly to a point of view and argue
about it , especially when the team needs to move forward to make a decision or get something
done.

4. Respect
Group members should treat fellow members with courtesy and consideration, not just some of the
time but consistently. They must show understanding and support each other to help get the job
done. Respect is extremely important. A group where there is mutual respect for everyone, is an
ideal group and the members have healthy and peaceful relations with each other.

5. Trust
Trust is the foundation for any relationship. Without it, the relationship will be shaky and will
eventually fail. Lack of trust is the main reason relationships fall apart. Group members should have
faith in each other, and trust each other completely, in order to strengthen their relationships with
each other.

NEGATIVE QUALITIES
1. Domination
Poor group members tend to dominate group activities , seeking control over every aspect. They do
as many of the tasks that they can, without seeking input or support from their teammates. They are
possessive of their work and refuse to listen to their teammates about ways to improve it. This can
create conflicts and arguments.

2. Lack of Unity
A group that lacks unity is usually quarelling about the goals and tasks to be accomplished. Lack of
unity makes it difficult to work together. Disputes can weaken relationships of the members, and
increase bitterness among the members .

3. Lack of Camaraderie
The group members do not feel that they are part of a team. Instead, everyone acts in his or her own
interests. This is a bad direction for a group to head as it can lead to rogue actions and behavior,
conflict, etoriating reltionships and even straying from completing one's tasks.

4. Lack of Openness and Trust

Everyone is guarded, protective of his or her own interests. Openness and truthfulness are perceived
as yielding to someone, giving a competitive advantage, or exposing vulnerabilities. When this
happens, idea sharing is at a minimum and that is never good if you want to be part of a successful,
cohesive team on a successful project.

5. Inconsideration
Bitter and unhealthy relationships are also caused when the group members are inconsiderate and
disregard other's work, opinions and efforts. This can create differences among the group members.
