Becoming an LCCian does not happen overnight. This identity does not occur just
when one is about to graduate. The moment you entered her hallowed premises, your
formation had already begun, nurturing your mind, honing your skills, and cultivating your
faith. After a year or so, let’s reflect on how LCC has made a mark on you.

Task 1. An LCCian
Having stayed at LCC-Bacolod for quite some time, you must already have a good grasp of being
an LCCian. If someone asks you these questions, how would you respond?

. Who are you as an LCCian?


. What makes you an LCCian?
. How do you live out your identity as an LCCian?

LCCian.

As an LCCian student, it’s not just about following the rules and regulations but by
loving you own school and keeping it in your heart even after you graduated. LCCB was new
to me because I came from public school, I’m not Catholic and there ain’t that much of rules
like how Catholic Schools have but I manage to feel comfortable cause of how the faculties
and my classmates treat me well as part of LCCB. I am a person who respect the rules of the
place I am in. I follow the rules and regulations. I respect the Sisters, Fathers, and the
Mothers that am not familiar with. I respect the prayers and I love how they say, “My heart
is restless until it rests in you, oh God” by St. Augustine, which I’ve learn from my religion
class. I read from the Vision and Mission of LCCB that means spreading The Word of God or
sharing them, I love also that and I respect it as a Born-Again Christian. Sharing the things
I’ve learned in LCCB is what make me an LCCian, I mean I can also inspire people of what I’ve
learned and what to learn. Being proud to my school too is what makes me feel an LCCian
and respecting others schools also. I feel like being my identity as an LCCian is like wearing
formal uniform and ID’s, sharing them how the school being accommodate to their students.
How people recognize me because of my uniform and wearing it proudly, not boastfully but
proudly with respect. By doing my best also as a student, study hard and faithfully trusting
Father God of what He plans for me in the future.
Task 2. My Vision and Mission in Life
The school’s vision and mission for herself are designed to help her students reach
their own visions and missions in life. Ideally, these goals should also be aligned with her
students’.
Reflect on the school’s VM statements. Afterwards,
think and reflect on your own vision and mission in
life using the following guide questions:
• What is my vision for myself?
• What is my personal mission in life?
• How is LCC-Bacolod helping me reach my vision
and fulfill my mission?

A one-paragraph answer is expected for each bullet point. Write your answers to
these reflection questions using the format provided in the rubrics.

As a student who is still growing and having faith in the Lord, may Father God guide
me to His plan of vision and mission in life because I want to follow His way, not mine. The
vision is to see myself sharing The Word of God to others who are lost. Be successful and
achieve of what He plans me to do and ask for strength, wisdom knowledge and guidance
as I follow Him. I also vision myself to be an Architect but if Father God has a best plan for
me then I will follow and ask Him to prepare my heart, and my families.

To my personal mission in life is to share The Word of God cause if you put God first
everything will follow cause He’ll lead the way to you, it may not be easy but that is what
how He train you for battles and that is why He’s there to give you a big hand to help.
Having commitment and desire to work the His plan. My mission also is to help my parents
and those who in needs. Not work hard but work smarter.

LCCB is helping me to my journey being an architecture student, helping me to learn


more to my studies. The religion helps me too learning more about Father God, and slowly
it helps me to achieving the vision and mission that He plans me to do. Inspiring students
and giving guidance. Teaching with passion and commitment for students to learn and
achieve of each other’s goals. Helping and leading the way to Christ our Lord and Savior to
share the good news that has been given to us.
Task 3. My Augustinian Role Model
After reading the biographies of these four holy individuals, reflect on their life stories and
feel which of the four stories speaks to you the most. Then answer the following questions
in essay form.
• Of the four holy individuals presented,
with whom can you relate the most?  In
what ways does his/her life story resonate
with yours?
• What lessons from his/her life can you
apply to your own life?

Each of the bullet point questions should elicit a one-paragraph answer of not less than 6
sentences. Write your essay using the format provided in the rubrics.

The life story that I love and has an impacted to me is St. Monica. She is very committed to
God The Father, even her son disobeyed her, even her husband is not Christian she still did her best
praying for her son asking for forgiveness and having patience bringing her husband closer to God
The Father. Letting her parents do arrange marriage. She’s really having trouble, but still her faith to
Father God is very strong that she was able to conquer her troubles and trusting God of helping her.
Reflecting her story from my earthly and Christian journey inspire me to be more faithful and keeping
my spiritual life burn hotter. Sometimes earthly journey that you plan yourself to do can distract you
from Christian journey that Father God plans you to actually do in your earthly journey, but prayer
really helps people. God used His angels and a person to remind you that He is there and just wait for
the right time and then the right time happened her son became a Christian. It’s very beautiful after
the result of your hardship in life, of how you follow Gods plan for you to do here on earth. Having a
strong faith can bring you to hardship but that’s what God you to feel cause He know that it can bring
you to Him closer, closer like how Jesus Christ sit on His Father’s lap and lean on His chest, THAT IS
THE VERY BEST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN IN MY LIFE, EVER!!

Lots of lessons I learned from St. Monica, her strong faith, her commitment, her love, her
strong trust and her Christian Journey she followed. For sure everyone is scared of death, but she
knows she did the plan that God wants her to do so she’s happy and ready. In my earthly journey, I
am always asking God to help me and guide me to the right path and hope that this journey of being
an architecture student is the right journey and if it’s not I also pray that He will lead me the way to
His best plan, and prepare my heart and my parents’ heart. Keeping my faith strong and my spiritual
fire will burn hotter. Continuing trusting God even the times of trouble, I’ll stay be faithful.
Understanding His plan and committing my whole life to Him that can’t me trouble in my earthly
journey. Stay focus and be serious of following Him. Be strong and obedient to His world, pray more
stronger and with a full hearted and sincerity.

Task 4. Real Talk

Find a partner for this task and discuss with each other how your present batch
conforms or embodies the school’s core values, spirituality, and attributes. After the
sharing, answer the following questions in an essay form:

• Identify: 1. one core value, 2. one spirituality root, and 3. one graduate attribute that
need to be emphasized more to your present batch? What are your bases or reasons
for these choices? Provide concrete scenarios to support your answer.
• What activities or programs can you recommend to address these needs?

Each of your answers (1. core value, 2. spirituality root, 3. graduate attribute) has to
have their own 1-paragraph discussion explaining your reasons and your recommended
solution. Write your answer using the format provided in the rubrics.

Core values for me is a very important thing to have it in yourself, trusting it and
following it with whole heart. One attribute that I picked for core values that needs to be
emphasized more to my present batch is Christ-centeredness. LCCB is actually reaching
people to lead them to God and student does follow but the students aren’t really taking it
seriously cause their purpose to go to school is to study for their earthly future jobs. It’s not
a bad thing to focus in your studies but the real purpose that we are here is to serve Father
God and put Him at the center of EVERYTHING. People do say they accept Jesus Christ as
their personal savior but that is all they want to know, they won’t commit their whole-
hearted life to Him cause they are so focus to themselves. We have religion class but I notice
some of my classmates aren’t really listening and they just study to pass the subject but the
point of this subject is to tell student how GREAT our GOD is, to lead students they way to
Gods presence, to be saved, to learn about how POWERFUL HE IS and why are my
classmates can’t understand that?! Cause they focus themselves into other things here in
the world, they maybe following the excellence, community, diversity, stewardship but that
won’t work out with a missing piece in your heart and FATHER GOD is the only solution for
everything and that is why LCCB put Christ-centeredness first in the list cause that is their
first goal. People with a close heart can really feel Gods presence, they maybe feel it but
they are rejecting it. As a person growing in the presence of our Lord, my recommendation
activities or programs to address these needs is to reach out more, not just in religion classes
but a somewhat a recollection that can really touch them and can open their heart to
receive Gods love. In religion class that time our teacher want us to write & explain the
Gospel we heard from Sunday service, as a Born-Again Christian I ended up studying and
getting more wisdom of the Gospel, the feeling of hearing it the service and studying it and
asking God to let you understand The Gospel IS A VERY GREAT FEELING, I SWEAR. So, I just
want to recommend in every religion class, teacher will task us to explain the Gospel in
Sunday service cause it well help the student to learn about God and God will use it to reach
their hearts.

Spiritual roots focus on your spiritual life connecting to God, people maybe accept
Jesus Christ but are they studying His Word? The one attribute that I picked for spiritual root
that needs to be emphasized more to my present batch is The Word of God. You won’t know
who Jesus as your personal savior is if you won’t study His Word. Bible is the guidance how
God loves the world that He gave His only Son Jesus Christ to save us all, it can help you not
just your spiritual but all of you whole self, your physical, emotional, social, mental, spiritual
and moral state of self. It can give you a great realization, wisdom, knowledge, love,
strength, everything even your problems it can help you so much. If you know The Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit but you don’t know them really well your spiritual root may break and
destroyed. If your spiritual root ain’t strong enough, if your faith ain’t strong enough, you’ll
break, you’ll get hurt easily and there’s a possibility that you’ll lost your faith in Gods way.
So, it needs to be strong and Bible can help you too, pray for wisdom, knowledge and
understanding as you read His Word. If you’re confuse in God’s Word, then the people you
share it with will not gonna understand it too, if your lost, then they will be too and that is
scary. They’ll lose their faith because of how you deliver The Word lacking of faith in God
and wisdom of The Holy Spirit. As me growing my recommendation activities and programs
that can help my batchmates would every religion class sharing one verse that they find it
relatable to their current state and explain in to the class, like an open forum once a week or
if possible every day. A person with an open heart for His Word will appreciate but those
people who has a close heart and rejecting His Word won’t, but there will be a perfect time
or a person that God will use as an instrument to get back what He owns. Pray with sincere
heart and trust to our Father.

Lastly graduate attributes, as you grow nationalistic, cultural sensitivity and other
attributes will be learn already as you study but being Christ-centered everything will follow
easily. The one attribute that I picked for spiritual root that needs to be emphasized more to
my present batch is Christ-centered again. It is already human’s nature to be competent
intellectually and universally, nationalistic, responsible to the community, cultural sensitivity
and active ecological stewards but that is the reason you’ll crumble if you’re not a Christ-
centered, if it’s Gods’ plan then everything will follow. When you don’t have God, everything
will all felt wrong and you’re not contented and your still empty inside and something still
missing a piece in you and the answer to that is our God The Father. People may say God is
not always the answer, nope WRONG! Letting God guide you and trusting His path is what
makes you going and giving you wisdom of every answers that you need. Follow His path
knows you God, know your Savior and know your Bible. Have a strong faith and trust in the
Lord, that is what I can recommend as your grow in the presence of our God.

Imagine that the department where you belong has decided to make its own
Vision/Mission (VM) statements, core values, and graduate attributes. The administration
thought of including the students in the process and has randomly picked your group to
represent the whole student body. Your group is tasked to come up with your own VM
statements, Core Values, and Graduate Attributes for the department.

Meet with your group and do the following steps:

1. Create a new VM statements for the department.


2. Enumerate and explain the five new core values of the department.
3. Name five new graduate attributes that you think each LCC graduate should embody.
