Reflection
Performance Task:
Write your realizations about teaching, is it worth pursuing?
Truly, teaching is one of the most challenging jobs. Teachers not only facing tons
of workloads, but also, they deal with student behavior, which I think, for me is the
hardest part. In order to teach, teachers are reinventing themselves and their
occupation to better serve schools and students. Their relationship with students,
colleagues, and the community; the tools and techniques they employ; their rights
and responsibilities; the form and content of curriculum; what standards to set and
how to assess whether they are being met; their preparation as teachers and their
ongoing professional development; and the very structure of the schools in which
they work.
Is it worth pursuing? Yes indeed! Almost all of my life, I’ve in school and
studying. And with that time, I have met many teachers whom I really admired the
most and up until now I remember their famous lines. One of my favorite teachers
is my Math teacher in grade 5 to 6. Mr. Lanuza is a Math wizard whom I really
idolized. (Not to mention but my favorite subject is math, I was best in math from
elementary to first year high school, he called me Mathenik because I always got
perfect scores in math examination, but I don’t know what happens. Nabulok na
ko). He is one of my inspiration back then in high school. His dedication in
teaching is very inspiring. And for that reason, I really agree that pursuing this
course is worth it. To be able to inspire, ignite imagination and affects student life
is enough to pursue teaching.
