1 Check for bubbles in return • Ensure tightness of filter, fuel. Strainer & fuel
sight glass, primary drain cock should be in closed
i.e., fuel sight glass nearer to the condition.
engine • Ensure that minimum 1500 liters of diesel is

2 Check for radiator fans not • RESET radiator fan breaker if provided.
working
• Check for any visible loose connection in radiator
Note: If radiator fans are not fan circuit in ECC3.
working, EM2000 shall display
"REDUCED POWER – THROTTLE • Swap 010 1 and 3.
6 LIMIT • Radiator fan fuse might have blown, nothing can
be done, work in lower notches if the train load
permits, Inform Shed
3 Check for TCC over temperature Work in lower notches if possible; else wait for a
while and allow TCC [Link] come down, and then
work further. If the message appears only in one
TCC, that particular TCC can be isolated, if the train
load permit
4 Check for Traction Motor over Work in lower notches if possible; wait to cool
temperature down Traction Motors, and then start again.
Note: In case of TCC over
temperature and TM over
temperature, message shall be
logged in EM 2000 showing
"REDUCED POWER TCC OVER
TEMPERATURE" or REDUCED
POWER HOT TRACTION MOTOR"
5 Check for throttle position in If EM 2000 does not display the same throttle
EM If EM2000 position as the actual throttle position, change the
control stand and work further.
6 Check for speed and power Ensure tightness of AMPHENOL plug of Governor. If
fluctuation the problem persists, seek advice from shed.
Note: Full ENG HP will not be
achieved at Lower speeds since
load regulation is based on
Tractive Effort. Full HP will be
achieved at about 25 KMPH.
