Hospitality Information Systems Spring This course is about how a hospitality level job uses

websites, and other technological advancements to

Entertainment Arts and Events – Summer This course is about the entertainment side of the

entertainment event.
International Events – Summer This course works around the idea of creating an

steps in planning, building, and creating an event. By
the end of the course, students will understand how
to better evaluate their event’s success.

Into to Women’s Studies – Fall 2019 This course establishes a foundation of Women’s

Students learn the discrimination and hardship
women are faced with, and the even deep struggles
of minority women.
Women and Leadership – Fall 2019 This course raises awareness and celebrates the
WST 3371 - web advancement of women in higher positions. Students
will also learn how hard women have worked to make
it there, and how hard it still is for POC women to
make it to these positions.
Girls’ Studies – Spring This course discusses the importance of raising girls
WST 3020 - web 2020 up to be powerful, confident, and aware of the world.
Students will learn about the lack of education, and
immoral cultural norms girls across the globe face.
Intro to Gender Studies – Spring This course discusses topics and levels of gender.
WST 3603 - web 2020 Students will learn of the discrimination and
hardships minority groups face.
Sex & Gender in Society – Fall 2020 This courses teaches students the difference between
SYD 3800 - web gender and sex, and how each are seen by society.
Students will learn of the discrimination, laws, and
hardships based by these minority groups.
Women, Race and Struggle – Fall 2020 This course specifically focuses on POC women and
WST 3460 - web the discrimination they face in their daily lives.
Students will learn about the levels of injustice in our
society that constantly take down women of color.
Theories of Masculinity – Fall 2020 This course discusses the idea of masculinity and how
WST 3621 - web it is viewed by society. Students will learn about men,
gender norms, and how society pushes down this
group.

The main driving force behind my scheduling was deciding what career I wanted from
my cornerstone course. In this course, we took several personality, skill, and other like quizzes,
each quiz told me that I should go into a public forum career where I can engage with people,
or consumers, on a daily basis. I decided that my two courses of study, commerce and
communication, would best strengthen my skills to engage in this type of profession. Another
driving force for picking some of my courses was getting certified in several different computer
programs. Knowing that I needed these skills and training for my desired career, this driving
force was perfect for picking my courses.
The other reasons of picking my courses were my interests, beliefs, and desires. My
main interest in life is communication and understanding how there are different ways to
communicate our ideas. To me communication is an essential part of life, therefore, I chose to
take classes that would peak my interests and give a richer understanding of certain topics. This
force was particularly important in my schedule selection, I wanted to establish the perfect
order of classes that I would be taking, and when I needed to take them. Overall, I am very
happy with my forces behind picking my classes, and believe that my best judgement in courses
will help me in my future careers.
