The IRCTC is known as Indian Railways Catering and Tourism
Corporation and is a subsidiary of the Indian Railways.
They offer services such as of Catering, Tourism and Ticketing.
It was founded on 16th April, 1857 along with Indian Railways.
The voice behind the setting up of Indian Railways is unknown, but for
the first time ever the idea to introduce Railways was made in
Madras in 1845.
The IRCTC website also has several records under its name. It became
the first website to sell 5,80,000 tickets in a day on 2nd
September, 2003 which was surpassed on 19th March, 2014 with
5,82,000 tickets sold in a day, which again was surpassed on 2nd
April, 2015 with 11,00,000 tickets sold in a day. According to
certain sources on an average the IRCTC sold 13,40,000 tickets a
day in the month of April, 2015.

for travel agents; and Cleartrip Mobile, a travel booking app for

The company got into strategic partnerships expanding the
footprint of its integrated travel services in 48 European and 18
