NOTIFICATION

[Link] are invited to the following positions in the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University,
details of which are as follows:

1. Dean (Academic)
2. Dean (Research)
3. Registrar
4. Finance Officer
5. Controller of Examinations

The qualification and experience for the above positions have been prescribed in the First Statutes
of the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, the original of which was issued in Malayalam.
Applicants shall verify and confirm their eligibility by referring to the original of the First Statutes
available in the website of the University before submission of applications. Applicants shall verify
and satisfy the method of appointment and terms and conditions of appointment specified
in the Statutes issued on 05.08.2020 and published in the website of the University, before
submission of the application.

1. Dean (Academic)

The applicant should have teaching experience of not less than 20 years in the University or
Colleges affiliated to the University or Autonomous Colleges under the University or Constituent
Colleges of the University or Colleges with academic autonomy or National institutes in the field of
Engineering Technology recognized by the Central Government or State Government, out of which
5 years shall be as Professor approved by the University or the Director of Technical Education, and
remaining 15 years in the teaching or research field of Engineering.

Manner of Selection: The manner of selection to the position of Dean (Academics) will be as per
Statute 21 of the Chapter 2 of the First Statute of the University.

2. Dean (Research)

The applicant should have teaching experience of not less than 20 years in the University or
Colleges affiliated to the University or Autonomous colleges under the University or Constituent
Colleges of the University or Colleges with academic autonomy or National institutes in the field of
Engineering Technology recognized by the Central Government or State Government, out of which
5 years shall be as Professor approved by the University or the Director of Technical Education, and
remaining 15 years in the teaching or research field of Engineering. The applicant should have five
highly acclaimed publications in research topics and experience in guiding students for research at
doctoral level. At least two students should have been awarded PhD under the guideship of the
applicant.

Manner of Selection: The manner of selection to the position of Dean (Research) will be as per
Statute 21 of the Chapter 2 of the First Statute of the University.

3. Registrar

The applicant should be a teacher with not less than 15 years experience in the University or
Colleges affiliated to the University or Autonomous Colleges under the University or Constituent
Colleges of the University or Colleges with academic autonomy or National institutes in the field of
Engineering Technology recognized by the Central Government or State Government. The
applicant should have 5 years experience in administration.

Manner of Selection: The manner of selection to the position of Registrar will be as per Statute 39
of the Chapter 2 of the First Statute of the University.

4. Finance Officer

The applicant shall not be below 45 years of age and shall not have completed 55 years of age as
on 01.01.2020. The qualifications and experience are as follows:
Essential qualifications:

1. Shall have a Post-graduate degree in any subject from any University established in the State
of Kerala or recognized by any University established in Kerala.
2. Should be a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant in India or a Fellow of the Institute
of Costs & works accounts of India

Desirable qualifications:

1. MBA (Finance) or equivalent Post-graduate degree.

 2. Shall have 5 years experience in executive positions in the area of Finance or Accounts or
Audit in any University or any Public sector organizations under the Central Government or
State Government

Manner of Selection: The manner of selection to the position of Finance Officer will be as per
Statute 55 of the Chapter 2 of the First Statute of the University.

5. Controller of Examinations

The applicant should be a teacher with 20 years of teaching experience out of which 5 years shall
be as Professor approved by the University or the Director of Technical Education, and remaining
15 years in the teaching field of Engineering. The 15 years experience in teaching field shall be in
the University or Colleges affiliated to the University or Autonomous Colleges under the University or
Constituent Colleges of the University or Colleges with academic autonomy or National institutes in
the field of Engineering Technology recognized by the Central Government or State Government.
The applicant should have 5 years experience in administration.

Manner of Selection: The manner of selection to the position of Controller of Examination will be
as per Statute 71 of the Chapter 2 of the First Statute of the University.

II. Application Form

The Application format for the positions of Dean (Academics), Dean (Research), Registrar and
Controller of Examinations (Form 1) is the same. However, candidates applying for more than one
position are to submit separate applications for each post. A separate Application format is provided
for Finance Officer (Form 2). The Application formats are attached herewith (Form 1 & 2).
Additional rows can be added in the word format as required. Self attested copies of
certificates/relevant documents in support of claims are to be attached with the application wherever
necessary.

III. Qualifications, Experience and Mode of Selection

All details pertaining to qualifications, experience, pay scale, method of appointment etc are
provided in the First Statute of the University (Chapter 2, Sections 20 to 85), copy of which is
available in the website of the University. Applicants shall once again verify and satisfy the method
of appointment and terms and conditions of appointment specified in the Statutes issued on
05.08.2020 and published in the website of the University, before submitting the application.
