DIY Papercut Light Box Guide

1. Print out the pattern and carefully carve along the lines, taking about 3 hours for full completion. 2. Create square frames from KT board or foam board for each paper layer and paste them on the back, leaving 5mm spacing between layers. Combine the layers in the correct order using double-sided tape. 3. Glue LED lights to the back of the last paper layer, using two different colored lights if possible for added beauty without risk of overheating.

4 steps to Papercut Light boxes

1. Get the pattern and carve


After downloading the file, please extract the file
and print out them.
Carved out pattern along the lines - it requires
some petience, I usually spent a full 3 hours on
step. Please be patient
and finish carved out all paper of the pattern.

2. Making spacer and assembled.


Create a square frame for each sheet of paper using
the KT or Foam board, and paste it on the back of
the paper. Alternatively, you can use carton to make
the frame.
The distance between layers of paper is 5 mm.
That is the most suitable distance.
Finally combine them together with double-sided
tape.
Pay attention to combine the correct order of the
paper layers to bring out the best image

3. Light source for your boxes


Glued the LED lights to the last page paper. If it is
possible, using 2 different colors LED lights will
make it more beautiful. (Don't worry, the
possibility of overheat and catch fire is infinitely
close to zero.)

4. Final: Insert layers of paper into the box.


Then attach the last LED light
and plug in the power to light it up.
