Petroleum Engineering Reservoir Calculations

This document contains three questions regarding reservoir engineering calculations for oil and gas reservoirs. Question 1 provides data on an initial reservoir and requires calculations of initial oil, gas, and dissolved gas in place. Question 2 provides PVT data for an oil reservoir and requires calculations regarding initial oil in place, remaining gas, and recovery factor. Question 3 uses the Havlena-Odeh approach to calculate initial oil and gas in place from cumulative production and pressure data over 10 years.

Question 2

The R sand is a volumetric oil reservoir whose PVT properties are shown below .
Reservoir temperature is 150 deg F. When the reservoir pressure dropped from an
initial pressure of 2500 psia to an average pressure of 1600 psia, a total of 26.0 MM
STB of oil had been produced. The cumulative gas-oil ratio at 1600 psia was 954
SCF/STB .NO Appreciate amount of water was produced, and standard condition
.were 14.7 psia and 60deg F. Initial water saturation is 0.18

Solution

psia = Initial pressure 2500

Bubble (saturation) pressure = 2200 psia (from figure 1)

Reservoir pressure at the end of the interval=1600 psia
