NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE ORIENTATION OF THE MOST ESSENTIAL LEARNING

COMPETENCIES IN ALL MATH TEACHERS IN MANGINO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The face-to-face orientation with the strict implementation of social distancing on

the Most Essential Learning Competencies dated July 22, 2020 was fully explained by the
facilitators, Mrs. Rhodora P. Delos Santos on Grades 1 to 3, and Mrs. Myrna G. Villasenor on
Grades 4 to 6. The orientation focused on the newly–abridged set of learning competencies
which is now being called MELC, or Most Essential learning Competencies. It was clearly
explained why there had been some changes in the learning competencies. Like how some
of the formerly known competencies were dropped because it didn’t meet the endurance
criterion, and how some were merged or rephrased because some of the learning
competencies are related and are harmonized for a more focused development of the
concept/skills
After the orientation, all Math teachers in Mangino Elementary School were very
much aware on how MELCs was created.
