ABC Classification and Cycle Count Process

1) The current AS-IS process defines, compiles, and assigns ABC classes and items to groups for cost accounting. Items are created in Oracle with costs provided by accounting and classified in the ABC system based on onhand value times cost. 2) A concurrent request is submitted to perform a cycle count for a given organization and group name, checking costs. 3) The ABC assignment group is verified and cycle counts are performed on a weekly schedule, with adjustments posted after execution.

1) Current AS-IS Process

Define ABC Compile

Compile

Create ABC Assignment Group

Attach ABC Compile to the Group

Attach ABC classes to the Group

Assign Items by providing the range for each class based on compile

2) Item Creation in Oracle

Request sent to PLM Team for the Part Numbers to be setup

The Items are created in Arena by PLM Team and is ported to Oracle (schedule program from oracle)
and is received.
3) Item Cost Setup

Item cost is provided by Cost Accounting Team for newly created Items

4) ABC Classification Setup

The ABC Classification at Sunpower is based on the Current onhand value = Current Onhand * Item Cost
(Frozen Cost)
5) Use Case

Submit Concurrent request " Cycle


Count Request Set" with
parameters: Completed Check Log File
Organization Code: “XYZ” normal for the errors.
New Group name: “Name”
Criteria: Unit Cost(LOV)

Verify Assignments
from ABC Assignment
Group form
6) Cycle Count Process

Schedule is Weekly (screenshot provided)


7) Cycle Count is performed (screenshot below)
8) Cycle Count Adjustments post Cycle Count execution
