6. Title of Project Streets alive: Outdoor performance art and temporary flash instalations.
7. Describe the Project A series of performance art workshops to create inspiring temporary
(max 150 words) performance art installation's. Space will be provided in kind by playhouse to
the project. The installations will seek to highlight underused urban areas
within city centres and their potential for regular use to engage the public
enlightening celebratory creative stimulus. The work will be multidisciplinary
and challenge notions of street performance.
The performance to include live music, temporary moveable outdoor sculptural
installations & beautiful costumes will brought together to transform the
environment and interact with the urban spaces regular use and rhythm. There
is possibility for support from the west Yorkshire playhouse wardrobe.
Workshops and performances will be filmed and photographed by a number of
film makers and photographers. This will form the basis of an indoor exhibition.
This exhibition will be a way of communicating the findings of the project.
Facilities and contacts will be networked to all participants.
8. Timescale/will it take Ten two hour workshops over 14 weeks with 3 outdoor performances & 1
place indoor installation. Option to tour indoor installation.

10. Aims of Project Enliven urban spaces that have the potential for performance art
(max 150 words) and flagship models for new live multi media/disciplinary
performances within spaces to potentially reinvigorate current
modes of street performance/art.
Discover, compare and contrast indoor and outdoor modes of
performance.
Work with time based arts in conjunction with other media ie
sculpture.
To compare and contrast the semiotics of live performance and
recorded performance
Skill share through workshops cross fertilization between a variety
of disciplines
Attract new members/audience to NWY project through
accessible workshop rollout, public outdoor performance and final
indoor installation
Hub and network artists in with the resources available through
Bradford Playhouse and West Yorkshire Playhouse Wardrobe
11. How does your We will Build NWY's community or NWY's sense of community by providing a
project address collective workshop meeting place on a weekly basis for ten week rollout. We
