Writing – Review (280-320 words)

An arts magazine has started a section called Answer the Critics, in which readers are invited to
respond to the reviews written by the magazine’s critics with reviews of their own. Write a review
of something you have seen (a film, show, play or TV programme) or read, giving your own
opinions on it and comparing your views with those of the critics.

a- Who might the readers of the article be? Readers of arts magazine.

b- What three main elements should your review consist of? Data of the topic, my opinion and
compare my views with the critics’.

c- What part of the question suggests that you need to be evaluative in your writing? Giving
my opinion.

d- What style of writing would you expect to use? Formal
