Wire Rope Inspection Checklist Form

The wire rope checklist form is used to inspect wire ropes for signs of damage or deterioration. It checks for corrosion of rope ends, cracked or worn end attachments, heat damage, kinking, crushing, bird caging or other distortions, severe abrasion, broken wires exceeding 10% of total wires in a length of 8 diameters, 10 randomly distributed broken wires, or 5 broken wires in one strand in one lay. Inspectors must note any issues and determine if the rope is accepted or rejected based on the inspection.
