Lesson Plan on Force and Motion

The document outlines a lesson plan for teaching Newton's laws of motion. It details the teacher and student activities, which include greetings, classroom management, attendance, group work exploring the laws through experiments, presentations, and a quiz. The key concepts covered are defining force and motion, determining Newton's three laws of motion, and the relationship between force, mass and acceleration described by F=ma. Students are assigned research on applications of the laws as assessment. The lesson aims to describe force and motion and demonstrate understanding of Newton's laws of motion.

Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

A. Daily Routine

1. Greetings
Good Morning Class! Good Morning Ma’am.

2. Classroom Management
Kindly pick up all the pieces of trashes The students will pick up all the trashes and
around your chair then arrange it properly. they will arrange their chairs.
You may now take your sit.

3. Checking of Attendance
Do we have any absentee for today? The students will respond if there are any
absentee from the class.
III. Learning Task

B. Engagement

The students will sit in pairs facing one

another. After facing each other, place your
hands chest high with palms facing their
partner. Then place your palms onto your
partners, and at my signal, begins pushing.

“What did you feel when your partner

pushed against your hand?” I felt her/him pushing on my hands.

“What did you do when your partner pushed

you?” I had to push back.

“What do you think will happen if you did

not push back?” I would be pushed back or pushed down.

Now, I want you to hold each others hand

and pull.

“What did you feel when your partner pulled

against your hand?” I felt her/him pulling on my hands.

“What did you do when your partner pulled

you?” I had to pull back.

“What do you think will happen if you did

not pull back?” I would be pulled forward.

As you can see there is a force applied right? Yes ma’am.

So class, based on what we did, can you Force is a push or pull exerted by one body
describe force? on another body.

That’s right.
How about if I pushed the table forward,
what do you think will happen?
The table will move.
Very Good! The table will change its position.

If the object is moving, changing its place or

position, the object is said to be in what
state? The object is in the state of motion.
Exactly!

There is a scientist who is very famous for his

contribution in physics. He studies motion
and came up with three laws. Who do you
think is this scientist?

Ma’am the scientist you are referring to is Sir

Very Good! Isaac Newton.

C. Exploration

For today’s activity, I will group you into

three.
(The teacher will group the students)

Each group will be given different materials

to perform one of Newton’s three laws of (The students will go with their respective
motion. You can record your observation in groups, then choose two representatives
the provided paper. You will be given 10 who will report later)
minutes to test out the task assigned in your
group before demonstrating it again in front,
then choose two representatives to discuss
your observation in front of the class later.

Do the activity now.

D. Explanation The students will do the activity now.

Have you done it?

Please arrange the chairs properly again and Yes ma’am.

go back to your proper seats.
(The students will arrange and go back to
Activity Presentation their proper seats.)

Let’s start with group 1.

Group 2.
Each group will present and explain their
Group 3. output.

Give yourselves a round of applause.

E. Elaboration

Describe the relationship between force and

acceleration mass. (F=m x a) Force is mass times acceleration, or F=m x a.
This means an object with a larger mass
needs stronger force to be moved along at
the same acceleration as an object with a
small mass.

If you double the force, you double the

acceleration, but if you double the mass, you
cut the acceleration in half.
Very Good!

F. Evaluation
Direction: Identify what law of motion is
illustrated in the GIF. Write your answer in a
piece of paper.

1.

(The students will answer the quiz)

2.

3.

4.

5.

Are you done class?

Yes ma’am.
Alright, let us check your quiz. Exchange
papers with your seatmates. (The students will exchange papers)

Analyze the GIF then state your answer. 1.

Answer: Law of inertia/ First Law of Motion

2.

Answer: Law of Acceleration/ Second Law of

Motion

3.

Answer: Law of Interaction/ Third Law of

Motion

4.

Answer: Law of Interaction/ Third Law of

Motion

5.

Answer: Law of Inertia/ First Law of Motion

IV. Assignment
Research at least 3 applications of each of
Newton’s laws of motion.

Detailed Lesson Plan in Science

Physics

I. Objectives:
1. Describe force and motion.
2. Determine the three laws of motion based on the given activity.
3. Display awareness about the relationship between force, mass, and
acceleration.

II. Subject Matter

A. Topic: Force and Motion
B. Concept: A force is a push or a pull, generally by some observable contact
between two objects. For example, we exert a force on a book when we push it
with our hand. Whenever we see contact between two objects, we can assume
there are forces between [Link] is a change in position of an object over
