Reflective Writing
My Tunes:
My high school music taste has changed so much. In the beginning of freshman year, I
listened to music that plays on the radio, such as Coldplay and Green Day, but as I started being
around different people, the music I started listening to started to change. The first time I
remember when I started to like rap music was when me and my friends were sitting in a car
listening to an album that just dropped. I was familiar with this rapper way before he dropped
this album, but I never had the time to get into it. After listening to the album, I really started to
get into rap music. That album is still one of my favorites today, it is called Luv is Rage 2.
Today, some of my favorite rappers are Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott, Young Thug, and Playboi
Carti. I have been listening to all of them since at least sophomore year, and I still love all of
their music. At the end of senior year, rap music is pretty much the only genre I listen to. Both of
my parents hate how much rap I listen to and they say that none of the music I listen to will be
around in 30 years, but I think it will and I enjoy it. I follow about 10 rappers' lives and I know
all of their discography and I stay updated with all of them. Today, music is such a big part of
my life. I probably listen to about 7-8 hours of music a day and I never get tired of it.
The Bucket List:
There are many things that I want to do that I have not got to do yet. However, there are
some things on my bucket list that I have done, such as swimming with tiger sharks in Hawaii.
Today, my number one thing I want to do is to go surf at Teahupoo in Tahiti. I probably won’t
ever be good enough to surf it since it is one of the scariest waves, but I at least want to take a
boat out there and watch it. Another thing I want to do is to go skydiving. I’ve wanted to do it for
a while, but I don’t have anyone to do it with yet. I also want to do a road trip all around the
world, which I probably will never do, but I want to explore as much of the United States as I
can. Another item on my bucket list is to be able to fly a plane, not for a job, just for fun. I have
always been interested in flying planes, but it is a lot of work to learn, especially if I don’t want
to do it for a job. I would also like to experience the Northern lights, which is a pretty reasonable
thing to experience. There are so many beautiful places and things to experience in the world, I
just want to be able to explore everywhere. To do that, you have to have a decent amount of
money, so I hope that I will work hard in college and get a good job that I enjoy. It is also on my
bucket list to have a job that I enjoy and that I don’t just work for the money. I want to enjoy my
job and life because life is too short and I want to enjoy it while I can.
Friends:
My friend group has changed drastically throughout highschool. I think my best group of
friends are my friends that I have right now. I have known all of them since sophomore year, but
we all didn’t become good friends till the summer of junior year. I met them from being in class
with all of them. Some of them weren’t in the same class as us, but somehow we all became
friends. Most of my friends all have different personalities than each other, but we all like to do
the same stuff so it works out well. We all get along super well since we all like to do the same
thing. When we hang out, we usually go surfing or go camping or hiking in the desert. I have
never gotten in a fight with any of them, which is a good thing. Before being friends with them, I
was friends with some other people, but it wasn’t a group of people, I just hung out with them
separately. I like hanging out in groups better because the more people there are, the better. I
can’t believe me and my friends are at the end of high school, and we are all going off to college
in different spots. Some of my friends are also going to Mira Costa, due to the pandemic, so it
will be nice not to have to say goodbye to them yet. My friends mean so much to me even
though I don’t ever tell them that, and I do not know what I would do without them. High school
would have been a lot different if I was not friends with them.
