Warren Truss Popsicle Stick Bridge Analysis

The document reports on a popsicle stick bridge designed and built by four students to apply concepts from their structural analysis course. The bridge used a Warren truss design with two trusses and was able to support a 22.5 kg load before failing. The bridge design used 120 sticks and had an efficiency of 59.5% based on its 371.5 g self weight.

 Design Decisions:
We were assigned the task of applying the
concepts of Structural Analysis in Practical use.
Our design originated from a very simple
Warren Truss design used for many bridges you
may see on a day-to-day basis. We built two
Warren Truss for our bridge. The purpose of
adapting the Warren Truss bridge was that we
hoped to be able to perform proper analysis in
a way that would allow us to apply the
knowledge we gained from the subject of
Structural Analysis.

 Overview:
 Self weight of Bridge-371.5 g
 Load applied on the Bridge-22.5 kg
 The bridge failed at the load exceeding 22.5 kg
 Efficiency of Bridge=(Load applied on the
bridge/Self weight of bridge)*100=59.5%
 Number of sticks used=120
 Days allocated for glue setting=2 days
