PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project is a broad; multi-disciplined development that includes vertical housing, a food market,
shops, creative workshops, an art gallery, and connecting gardens with endemic vegetation. Conecta is an
architectural development located in Avenida Vallarta and Av ….. The Project counts with a vast amount of
cultural and social amenities that aim to connect and unify the diverse cultural aspects of the Colonia
Americana.
THE CONCEPT

THE DESIGN BEHIND CONECTA SQUARE UNION COMES FROM THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE MULTICULTURAL COMMUNITY THAT INHABITS THIS
NEIGHBORHOOD. CRAFTED FROM THE CLASH OF CULTURE, ART AND DIVERSITY WE HAVE COME UP WITH A FUNCTIONAL, LIVING SPACE FOR
EVERYONE TO ENJOY.

views that we wanted to allow.

The layout strategy liberates space by creating entry
areas on three different points that dialogue and integrate with
the busy streets of “La Colonia Americana”; in this way the set of
public spaces, gardens , workshops, and art gallery form the lower
ground structure of daily human encounters that foster collective
coexistence.
The building’s layout leaves an interior space that
allows not only a connection between three
different streets but also multi level vertical
connection.

On the other hand the building’s orientation is

views from the units as well as the structural
system was thought to give the interior a

The verticality in the site suggest a
succession of towers disposed in a
diagonal, above a general flat surface. The
tower that is part of our project serves as
an element following this pattern, adding a
landmark to the area.

SYSTEM ORGANISATION: Different housing types
In the housing area, we have different typologies.

C We work with 5 types of apartments in total: type A, B, C, D
D and E. The types A, B and C are located in the tower, and types
E E and D are located in the adjacent buildings.
The idea behind these 5 modules is to be able in each building
to place the volumes as freely as possible or chose not to
leave the space meant for it void.
We have a range of flexibility from a level to another and
inside a same level.
The modules/ appartements types are designed for targeted
users (families, young adult worker, or students living
together.
Each apartment has a double orientation, either with the
facades facing each other, or the facades in the angles, the two
other ones used to keep the ability to adjoin the volumes
between them in more than a single direction.
