2. What are the Z, Y, h and ABCD parameters of a two-port network? Explain them.
3. State and Prove superposition theorem.
4. Sate and prove Thevenin’s theorem.
5. Sate and prove maximum power transfer theorem.

6. What are active and passive elements in an electrical circuit.
7. What are h-parameters (Hybrid parameters). Explain about them with an example.
8. State and prove Norton’s Theorem.
9. State and prove reciprocity theorem.

UNIT-II

1. What are intrinsic and extrinsic semiconductors? Explain the P-type and N-type semiconductors.
2. What is a P-N Junction diode? Explain the formation of depletion layer at P-N junction, change of
depletion region in forward and reverse bias and the V-I characteristics of a P-N junction diode.
3. Deduce an expression for the continuity equation in semiconductors.
4. What is a Zenor diode? Explain the V-I characteristics of a Zener diode. Explain how a Zener
diode can be used as a voltage regulator?
5. Draw the circuit diagram of bridge rectifier. Explain the working of a bridge rectifier and deduce
an expression for efficiency of a rectifier.

6. Explain about conductors, semiconductors and insulators on the basis of band theory of solids.
7. What are intrinsic and extrinsic semiconductors? Write down the differences between them.
8. What is Zener diode? Explain its characteristics.
9. Differentiate between half wave and full wave rectifier.

3. What is meant by amplification? How transistor works as an amplifier? Explain the working and
frequency response of RC coupled amplifier.
4. Explain the general theory of feedback. Describe how a positive feedback amplifier works as an
oscillator.
5. What is an oscillator? Explain the Barkhausen criterion for sustained oscillations. With the help of
a neat diagram explain the functioning of RC-phase shift oscillator.
