How to build a inline toggle clamp that can be adapted to a Kreg

Mini Pocket Hole Jig.


The clamp is made from an Izzy Swan designed clamp that I adapted to use the Kreg Mini Jig.

You can use 1/2” or 3/4” stock. I used 1/2” blond wood plywood, it has 7 layers and no voids.

Cut a base from 3/4” stock 18” long and 2 1/2” wide, if using ¾” stock for the clamp make the
base 3” wide.

Next cut 3 pieces 4” long and 1” wide, these will be the toggle arms and plunger.

Drill a 5/32” holes for the pins, (I used #8 box nails for the pins) in both ends of the toggle arms, 3/8”
from the end and 1/2” down from the top, or in the middle. The plunger get this hole in one end only.
The handle block is made out of 2 pieces 2 1/2” long and 1” wide and 1 a center piece 1 1/2”
long and 1” wide.

The handle block get the 5/32” hole 3/8” from the front end and down from the top, as in drawing. To
mount the handle block to the base I pre drilled screw holes and glued and screw it in place.

Next cut the pieces for the plunger block. 2 pieces 2” by 1” and a cap block that is 2” long and
1 1/2” wide. The plunger block was mounted to the base by pre drilled screw holes and glued and
screw it in place.

The handle is 6” long and 2” at the wide end. The shape of the handle is up to you. On the
lower or wide end of the handle drill 2, 5/32” holes ¼” from both edges on both end of the wide part
of the handle.
Next construct the jig block, I used hard wood for this as I use set screws to hold the Kreg in place.
The holder is 4” long and 2 1/2” wide or the width of the base and 1 1/2” high. I cut a notch in the
front of the holder 1” wide and 5/8” deep to hold the Mini Jig.

To make it adjustable I milled a ¼” slot in the holder block for a bolt to lock it down at what ever size
of stock I was drilling pocket in.
