demonstrating the use of digital technology within Road Stove and also identifies the drawback
of the digital technology. It should also require in focusing the area of development with the
implementation of digital technology. This will help them in creating a large base of customers

developed. The communication plan will assists the researcher as they will have the scope in
communication with the team for developing the interactive research project (Neuman, 2016).
The communication plan is being formulated in the below stated table.

LO2 Conduct small-scale research, information gathering and data
collection to generate knowledge to support the project.
Carry out small-scale research by applying qualitative and quantitative research
methods appropriate for meeting project aims and objectives
Methodology
Success of research is highly reliable on the selection of appropriate methodology which will
help the research to give the intended outcome. This enhances the efficiency of the research.
During the collection of data that are required for conducting the research, the researchers
incorporate strategy of survey as well as interview, positivism philosophy, descriptive design of
the research and deductive research approach that will help in securing the positive results.
Research methodologies also assist the researchers in deciding the collection of type of data that
is whether data collection will be quantitative r qualitative. The researcher collected the
qualitative data as it will exhibit the people’s thinking, feeling and behavior, which can enhance
the outcome’s efficiency. Qualitative data is collected as it is having open ended questions.
These questions can be altered according to the study and this technique is effective as it
enhances the quality of data (Merriam and Tisdell, 2015). In order to collect the qualitative data
the researcher selected four managers from different departments of Road Stove. Only three of
the four managers were able to provide their time for giving the feedback. In order to choose the
respondents the researcher implemented the procedure of non-probability sampling as it never
gives equal preferences to all the respondents (Brick, 2015). This helps in selecting the required
respondents for collecting functional data. On the other hand, Quantitative research is conducted
in order to collect statistical data, which will help the analysis to become objective as well as
reliable. In order to collect the quantitative data, the researcher selected 40 employees of Road
Stove for conducting the survey. Among the 40 employees selected, 30 employees of Road Stove
were available for providing the feedback of the survey. In order to select respondents, the
implementation of probability sampling is done. The primary reason for using this procedure of
respondents is that it assists to collect responses from numerous sample respondents. In order to
collect the feedback of the employees, researcher formulated few numbers of questionnaires,
which are close-ended as it will assists in collecting respondent’s feedback (Singh and Masuku,
2014).
Statistical consideration
Statistics involvement will also assists the findings in becoming more generalized. It also assists
in restructuring the issues related to complex research and more feedback oriented to the research
can be generated (Brick, 2015).
Ethics and data protection
Researcher also implemented good ethics for collecting feedback from employees. Therefore, the
researcher also pursued the act of Data protection so that the authenticity as well as reliability of
the data is maintained along with the security.

Better management of staff
Increased customer satisfaction
Increased customer loyalty
In the end increased sales and revenue (Juliet. 2013)
Challenges
Cost of implementation of technologies
Less trained staff and the cost of training
Hiring new experts
Managing latest technologies is more technical
Recommendations
For most restaurants, the return on investment can be measured in terms of cost reduction, which
is largely a function of increased staff productivity and resource utilization. It can also be
measured in terms of revenue growth. This is largely a function of improved guest satisfaction
and, in some cases, faster table turn times and again, in certain venues, the ability to reach and
serve a larger number of guests simultaneously. Additional selling points include the ability to
improve financial performance with advanced inventory and labor management tools and better
performance reporting capabilities. Food pre-ordering is one of the most trending technologies
for restaurants right now. It lets customers to order ahead and avoid waiting at restaurants.
Diners can be in and out of a restaurant in less than 15 minutes. For Road Stove in turn, online
food pre-ordering means less hassle for restaurant owners. It eliminates time wasted on telephone
calls, which is one less concern for busy employees. It is further recommended that Road Stove
can further introduce Table booking apps and other technologies which will also allow Road
Stove to pay closer attention to customers and remember their preferences. When a customer
makes reservation via mobile app, a restaurant will remember who the guest is and have an
opportunity to create a lasting relationship. For that matter, table booking apps are becoming
more of a personal concierge service for diners (Dhore [Link], 2014) (Kimes. 2008).
It is also recommended that Road Stove should take steps in initial stages to overcome the above
stated challenges. They should have a proper communication and training for staff to handle new
technologies.
LO 4: Reflect on the value gained from conducting the project and
its usefulness to support sustainable organizational performance
Reflect on the value of undertaking the research to meet stated objectives and own
learning and performance.
Prior project implementation research testing for Road Stove had various benefits for the project
some are as following
Awareness can be raised about the change within the community. Testing shows
stakeholders what they’ll be doing so they won’t be surprised upon implementation.
People are creatures of habit and will often resist change, especially if they’re presented
with something completely new. However, involving people in the planning and testing
often shows them that the new way really is better and they are then more willing to
embrace the new process.
Testing help determine whether the change needs to be refined to address those side
effects. And by testing on a small scale first, that minimizes risk and cost. Although the
idea may yield positive results for its intended goal, the change may not result in
improvement ultimately if it causes unintended consequences in different parts of the
system.
Testing helps increase belief that a change will result in improvement.
Recommendations
Restaurant can also face some issues like Cost of implementation of technologies, less trained
staff and the cost of training, Hiring new experts, managing latest technologies is more technical.
So it is also recommended that Road Stove should take steps in initial stages to overcome the
above stated challenges. They should have a proper communication and training for staff to
handle new technologies.
Conclusion
The report gives the learner a clear understanding about scheduling, resource allocation, planning
and implementation of project in small businesses like Road Stove. The report further explored
the implication and importance of planning a small piolet research before the project
implementation.
