Task 4: Document the MST daily workload and tasks

Teaching online refers to the way of educating learners using online tools such as
internet and technology devices. However, teachers carry on many duties while
teaching online just like the traditional teaching in the classroom. Since I did not have
the opportunity to observe my Monitor School Teacher during her online lessons, I
talked to her and discussed about the daily workload and tasks during the online
teaching. Based on our discussion, my MST had six basic duties to carry on daily
during her online classes.

The first duty is planning and designing lesson plans following the curriculum
requirements such as objectives, outcomes, pacing, methodology and assessments,
which are provided by the MOE. Second, creating summative and formative
assessments that are relevant to each lesson objectives. These assessments are
provided by the MOE most of the time, but she said that sometimes, she changes them
based on students' needs and abilities. Third, engaging students during the online
sessions or classes by encouraging them to participate through discussing and asking
oral questions to ensure that they are focused and involved.

Fourth, providing feedback for students about their work and tasks to enhance their
learning process and allow them to improve the needed areas. Fifth, maintaining
availability by communicating with students' parents to provide a progress report
through online sessions and email. Finally, tracking students' attendance. During the
online teaching, teachers need to track student attendance to online classes and my
MST said that she need to report the absentee students to the school principal and
parents.
