SLEEP AND SWITCH
FADE IN:
INT. SAMMY’S HOUSE MID-DAY.
Inside the run down, messy looking house of Sammy and his
argumentative parents Sammy is looking sad as he is bored of
his current life, and wishes he was financially rich like
all of the people he sees online. Sammy is packing for
football practice, something he isn’t at all excited for. He
is waiting at the front door, for one of his parents to drop
him, as he hears them arguing with each other in the
background
Mum
Bloody Hell martin you shouldn’t have been drinking so much,
I’m so sick of this!
Mum slams the door very loudly and tells Sammy to hurry up
and be ready. Sammy is already ready to go and looks angry
at his mum for nagging him
Sammy
I am ready! I’ve waited ages too
Mum
Not everything is about you Sammy! There are things going on
me and your dad need to sort out.
Sammy (sighing)
Yes Mum.
EXT. TRAINING PITCH – DAYTIME – JUST AFTER MID-DAY
A drone shot reveals a handful of boys warming up for
football training, including Sammy who is looking as still
as a statue with his hands in his pockets. There is then a
close up to Sammy who looks like he’d rather be anywhere
else right now. Some of his teammates tell him to come
closer and take part
Scott
Sammy, come on. Stop being moody as always, the world isn’t
ending
Sammy sighs and slowly walks towards them, until a coach
starts to shout at him to up his intensity

Coach Bobby
Get up Sammy, Into the box, Hurry up!
A cross comes in and Sammy goes for the ball, challenging
the goalkeeper. However, there is a collision as Sammy hits
his head really hard against the posts and fall straight.
The boys around him run away and shout for help, with some
looking like they want to gag and can’t bring themselves to
look at what has happened.
Scott
Quick!! Blood!
Matt
Oh my god, I can’t look!
Sammy’s vision flickers to black until he can’t keep his
eyes open, time passes as a paramedic arrives
Paramedic
Move, Move! Bandage stop the bleeding. Put an oxygen mask on
him to keep his breathing in a good state!
Sammy slowly drifts to sleep before blacking out and looking
like he’s unconscious, as the paramedics rush to put him on
a stretcher. The paramedic is breathing really fast showing
she is scared of what could potentially happen. The camera
shows a vignette of an EYE as a FIRST PERSON SHOT showing
Sammy falling asleep.
Paramedic
Keep with me, Come on… Come on!!
FADE OUT:
FADE IN:
INT. SAMMY’S NEW HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – DAYLIGHT
Sammy wakes up but doesn’t know where he is an EXTREAME
CLOSE UP on his eyes as he first wakes up to show his
emotion as he realized he’s in a different body. He sees
he’s taller, darker skin tone and even has facial hair. He
even goes to the mirror to check out his new look. He is
over the moon, He is in shock, He’s always wanted to and
even pinches himself to show it’s not a dream. His breath is

taken away from the beach view location to the luxury
looking furniture around the place. A shot pans around the
room revealing it all, including a chandelier. The CLOSE UP
on his face showing his smile says how much he has dreamed
about this sort of life before.
SAMMY (smiling)
I’m.. Rich, Good looking and live practically on the beach!
What more could I ask for?
There is a short time lapse of the sun starting to go down.
The orange sky that is lit up by the sunset looks
breathtaking with the beach. Sammy continues to look around,
with the camera doing a PAN shot around the room showing its
expensive decor. There is then a CLOSE UP on a drawer he
opens containing some seriously valuable items. He puts on
an expensive Gold chain, as well as a ring and some new
designer, expensive clothes that he could have only dreamed
of wearing before.
SAMMY
Wow! I can’t wait to show my… mum…
This is when reality hits him and he goes back to looking
confused, he loves his new life but he needs to have contact
with his parents. He walks downstairs onto the beach, where
he tries to find out if there is anyway of contacting his
parents.
EXT. BEACH – EARLY EVENING.
There is no one in sight, it is calm and peaceful, with the
sun setting. After walking up the beach a little he sees a
man in a suit picking up some litter near the beach, Sammy
quickly approaches the man -who looks happy to see him at
first and calls out to Sammy. Foley sound of the waves and
seagulls make it seem all so real.
CARETAKER
Good evening Dr. Rajesh. How are you doing my good sir?
SAMMY
Dr. Who? I’m not doctor… Who are you?

CARETAKER
Eh, Doctor. You’ve always been a funny man? No. I forgot to
tell you I have finished cleaning the hot tub on the top
floor, you wanted me to do that for a while now, you seemed
grouchy that I didn’t! (laughing)
Sammy looks extremely confused as this man clearly know who
this body is supposed to be, and Sammy believes there is no
way this random man would believe the true story.
SAMMY
Uh, my name is Sammy… I think that I am, uh lost? I don’t
think I am supposed to be in this body, I don’t know who
this person is?
CARETAKER
Doctor, stop it. You’ve done this same thing to me many
times saying your in a different body. I get the joke but
you’ve done the same things a few time, no?
SAMMY
What reason do I have to lie. Please help me… I need it.
There is complete silence for a few seconds as the caretaker
starts to have a really angry look on his face, the camera
does a CLOSE UP to show this anger.
CARETAKER
Doctor you need help. Mental health. That what it is. You
think you’re a funny man. I am sick of this, you’ve done
this to me before, this will be your last. I quit!
The caretaker takes of his name badge and throws it onto the
floor, before quickly walking away, with a CLOSE UP on his
face showing real anger. The camera then does a CLOSE UP on
Sammy’s face, as he looks alone and helpless. The camera is
at a high angle to make Sammy look small as he feels
isolated.
INT. BEACH HOUSE – EVENING
He walks back up to his room, before noticing an out of
place old looking crate. The create simply says ‘New Life’
on it

SAMMY
(whispers) New life…?
An extreme close up on the box as Sammy opens it showing it
to have some research pads, some chemicals, and a bottle of
liquid, which Sammy carefully examines each of the items. He
sniffs the liquid and makes and is on the brink of gaging,
but at this point he would rather do anything that could get
him into his old life, with his family. There is an EXTREAME
CLOSE UP on one of the note pad, an in depth study on
SAMMY’S LIFE, stating he wanted to leave everything behind,
and hence it has happened. Sammy looks empty and upset as he
pleads to be with his parents again, acknowledging that he
needs to be more grateful going forward. He feels out of
options and drinks the unknown liquids, to which he gasps
after drinking and quickly drops to the floor. There is an
over top shot of Sammy’s body, just barely twitching and
looking lifeless.
FADE OUT:
INT. BEDROOM – MORNING
The camera shows a CLOSE UP of Sammy’s bandaged head,
however it is his old body, but he is an extremely deep
sleep.
SAMMY (groaning, slowly waking up)
No… I’m not a doctor…
SAMMY’s DAD
Finally son, you slept the whole way through A&E. You should
be fine though, just a bandage for your head. Remember to
get rest too.
Sammy looks speechless and smiles, being really happy he’s
back with his family
SAMMY
It good to be back, Dad
SAMMY’s DAD
What do you mean back, son?
SAMMY

Ah. Don’t worry.
Sammy’s dad shows Sammy a news article he is reading on his
phone.
Sammy’s Dad
Anyway, you seen this? Umm.. Billionaire Doctor found dead
in home after suspected suicide.
The camera quickly pans to SAMMY, who looks shocked as his
eyes becoming big and his mouth slowly opens in shock, as
this man is described just as the one of the body he was in.
