Gun Range Fire Incident Report

Fire crews responded to a fire reported at a gun range at 12:51 pm that was fueled by wind, lightning, and an unattended camp fire. The fire jumped roads and overwhelmed fire units with embers by 1:06 pm. Evacuations were ordered for parts of Centerville and Bountiful as the fire grew to over 300 acres with 60-80 foot flames, aided by 30-40 mph winds. Over 500 firefighters and firefighting aircraft battled the fire, which was caused by an unattended camp fire.
