Impact of Attitude on Job Performance

Attitude plays an important role in job performance. Attitude can be defined as a person's disposition, opinion, or way of thinking and feeling. Managers should understand employee attitudes like job satisfaction, involvement, and organizational commitment as they influence productivity and goal achievement. A positive attitude channels employees to achieve objectives, while a negative one leads to dissatisfaction and lack of involvement. Understanding individual employee attitudes allows managers to tailor tasks to maximize performance based on each person's disposition. Measuring attitudes helps organizations meet their goals by ensuring collaborators are satisfied and engaged in their work.

Discuss the role of attitude in Job Performance and explain how can an understanding of

attitudes help managers be more effective.

To achieve the success desired by a professional, he must combine two great self-demands:
having a good attitude and aptitude in the tasks to be performed. Attitude may be defined as a
manner of acting, feeling, or thinking that shows one's disposition, opinion (Andrew, 2017). A
person has thousands of attitudes, but organizational behavior demands our attention for a very
limited number of those that are related to work, which are positive or negative evaluations that
employees have about certain aspects of their work environment. Most research in
Organizational behavior has been devoted to three attitudes: job satisfaction, job involvement
and organizational commitment. Although many aspects influence the achievement of the
objectives of a company and its productivity, one of the most important has to do with how its
employees act and work (Ronen, 1978). A point at which job performance becomes vitally
important.
Very often, the possession of an attitude predisposes the individual to react in a specific way.
The knowledge of the attitude can sometimes predict the behavior, both in the company and in
other aspects of life. In the workplace it is the positive attitude that channels and guarantees the
achievement of the objectives (Thomas, 1995). When an employee feels dissatisfied, he does not
get involved in his work and assumes an insufficient commitment to the organization.
The attitudes of the people are extremely changing and they are possible limitations for the
development of the person in the present and in the future, a situation that managers have
observed and that seek to find a solution, so that companies invest in training that allows
reshaping Employee attitudes.
Knowing the main attitudes towards work is of vital importance for employers and employees.
Nowadays employers use various tools that evaluate and measure job satisfaction, work
involvement and organizational commitment to know to what degree these attitudes are. Having
collaborators with positive attitudes and with a high degree of satisfaction will allow the
organization to meet its business objectives.
It is definitely about how an employee behaves and how an employee does his job - and how that
impacts the business, both positively and negatively. That is precisely why it is essential to
measure it. Not only because poor performance can harm the company, but because a good one
can increase motivation and get closer to our ultimate goal.
In any case, it should be noted that the results are not everything, but we must bear in mind that
these are only the partial consequence of a job performance and that many other factors affect.
This is very evident in the case of commercials. For example, even if a commercial does its job
well, its sales are more than likely to fall as a result of a general economic crisis.
Knowing your employee attitude can greatly impact how you manage individual. This will
allow managers t tailored job task to achieve optimum outcome based on each attitude.
