Implementing A Two Node RAC Using ASM and SAN (Openfiler)
First server (node1 in RAC) – where you will configure instance 1
Second server (node2 in RAC) – where you will configure instance 2
Third server (SAN BOX ) Provides shared DISK for Nodes
we need to configure ASM as follows
ASM instance 1 – should be configured on First Node
ASM instance 2 - Should be configured on second Node
Clusterware Software is 10g R2 and Database software is also 10g R2
We are going to install Linux OS in All RAC Nodes
Each Node should have 2 NIC cards
NIC 1 - eth0
NIC 2 - eth1
Install Linux OS (RHEL 4.3) in all Nodes
First Node Details are as follows
[root@rac1 ~]# hostname

Configuring Shared disk we can use the following technologies
FC SAN (H/w is specific to the vendor)
ISCSI SAN (This uses regular LAN)
In both the above technologies we can create LUNs and we can map
these LUNs to cluster Nodes (Logical Unit Number)
