Project Guidelines:

Objective: Create a profile of the 4 major theorists – Lev Vygotsky, Jean Piaget, Maria
Montessori, and Howard Gardner describing each person’s theory and then compare
and contrast each theory.

1. Create a profile of the 4 major theorists for cognitive development. Include the
following: (Remember you are not limited to this information though)
a. Name
b. DOB & DOD
c. Childhood
d. College and/or training for career
e. Adult life
f. Interesting facts
2. Theorist Picture
3. Theory
4. 2-page write up
a. Paragraph 1
i. Opening Paragraph. What is cognitive development?
b. Paragraph 2-5
i. Describe each theory (1 paragraph per theorist)
c. Paragraph 6
i. Tell which theory (only one) you agree with the most and tell why.
d. Paragraph 7
i. Ending Paragraph. Summarize your paper.

Format of Poster:
Each theorist should have a section dedicated specifically to that theorist.
Information that should be on the front:
1. Picture
2. Factual Information about person
3. Theory
Information that should be on the back.
1. Write up – Who do you agree with? (This will only be in one section of the
poster)
