Modern Westgard Rules Explained

This document presents the traditional Westgard rules and the modernized Westgard rules for assessing if analytical runs are in or out of control based on control data. The traditional rules use control limits of 2 standard deviations while the modernized rules use control limits of 3 standard deviations. The rules check for consecutive values outside control limits to determine if a run should be rejected.
