Total Physical Response
Is a language teaching method built around the coordination of speech
and action; it attempts to teach language through physical activity.
Student Role
Primary roles of listener and performer. They listen attentively and
respond physically to com- mands given by the teacher. Learners are
required to respond both individually and collectively.
Learners are also required to produce novel combinations of their own
learner monitor and evaluate their own progress.

Teacher Role
The teacher plays an active and direct role. Classroom interaction and
turn taking is richer rather than learner directed. Even when learners
interact with other learners it is usually the teacher who initiates the
interaction

Natural Approach
Is a method for beginners based on observation and interpretation on
how a person acquires his/her L1.
It rejects the formal organization of lge. It’s not based on grammar, is
based on communication.
There is an emphasis on expousure on input (pictures, realia…) the NA
is based on the principles o naturalistic lge. Learning in young children.
Suggestopedia
Specific set of learning recommendations derives from “Suggestlogy”.
It could be applied with music, musical rhythm to learning, power of
suggestion to help students eliminate the feeling that they cannot
succeed.
Communication takes place in the conscious and subconscious
learners. The emphasis of teaching is more on content. Evaluation is
done during the normal in-class performance.
Oral approach and situational teaching Involves accurate use of
vocabulary items and grammar rules in order to achieve a practical
mastery of the four basic skills.

CLL
Alternation, a message, lesson, class is presented first in the native
tongue and then again in the second language.
In CLL, a learnerpresents a message in L1 to the knower. The
message is translated into L2 by the knower. CLL interactions are
distinct and fundamental kinds:
- SS-ss / Learner-learner
- Ss-T / Learner- Knower
Silent way
Teachers should be silent as much as possible; errors are important
and necessary for learning.
Students need to develop their own criteria, language is not learned by
repeating after a model, student need to develop their own criteria.
