Custom Displays Troubleshooting and Guide

The single dot


The problem is with your HOF file, make sure that the texture is correctly linked on
line 7 on HOF Suite. Please enter the file name manually, don’t select it with the file
button.

The block
This means that your HOF file works and your files are correctly placed and named –
but the problem is with your .PNG.
Creating a display with Hanover’s HELEN software
Read from Step 6 if you’re creating a non-HELEN style custom display, or you don’t
have HELEN installed.
Studio Polygon use the following sign sizes
Front: 144 x 19
Side: 96 x 8
Rear (Route Number): 36 x 17
Rear (Full Size): 128 x 17
Follow these steps to get those snazzy blinds into the game…
1. Create the designs that you want to export into the game. For this, we’re
using this Arriva blind.

2. When you’re done, export the image as a bitmap.


3. Open your exported bitmap in Photoshop or [Link] and select the white
pixels.

4. In the Vehicles/SP_CustomDisplays folder, you’ll find your template -


CustomDisplays_Template.png. Copy and paste your white pixels onto the
template. Change the colour of your pixels to black, to help aid you creating
the display.

5. Resize the pixels with interpolation set to Nearest Neighbour.

6. Remove the background of the template, then save it to the


Vehicles/SP_CustomDisplays folder as a .PNG.
7. Edit your HOF file and put the file name of your display in Line 7, we’re using
[Link]. Save your HOF file and launch the game!

8. If you’ve followed these instructions correctly, your custom displays should


now show in game.

9. You’re all set. Happy driving!
