PART 2. INTERNSHIP ACTIVITIES
1. Job description (the activities that you have taken during the internship)
During the internship, I and the team mates is assigned a specific task to do in
the time to practice a month. We have divided the group and take turns doing
the job. We've split the work to suit the time and the ability of each person. In
addition to access to work most effectively, I often ask friends in the group and
staff guidance on what do not grasp to be able to be aware of the work I'm doing
correctly. Here is the main task of the management of equipment and supplies
and a few jobs for the whole group:
Learn how to use the equipment in the office and position of departments
and warehouses
4
Monitoring and managing equipment, the company's assets as well as to
order when necessary.
Shopping stationery and furniture to the needs of company.
Management of stationery such as books, newspapers and magazines on
the needs of companies
Enter the figures and tables in each section the material on the computer
Learn how to maintain and repair some office equipment
Practice specialized vocabulary and translate texts and documents.
Receive and classify documents and then send emails to departments.
2. Personal experience acquired through the training course (skills and
qualitification gained from the internship)
Firstly, it is the skills of teamwork. My internship experiences made me realize
the importance of teamwork. Hence, the experience taught me the importance of
teamwork and its impact on department and companies’ success. It is more
professional and each one in a team needs to work together to finish the task. In
an internship, I learn to work as a team without focusing entirely on myself. I
also develop patience in situations when I disagree with another member of the
team. In the time directly working and discussion groups, I always listen and
give my opinion; collected from the senior experience and understanding unity
in ways of working to ensure that everyone has a responsibility for the group's
products. At the start of the internship, most people are recruits for work.
Therefore, the attitude of learning and observation is essential. To work
effectively groups, trainees also need to know their own strengths and their best
finish assigned tasks.
Another important experience is Communication Skills.
PART 3. INTERNSHIP SELF-EVALUATION
1. What have you learned after the internship
Firstly, I learned the proactive and self-awareness. When working in a team or
group, a staff cannot be shy and timid. Therefore, when there are difficulties
that cannot be resolved on your own, the only way is to seek external help. It is
to proactively ask co-workers, friends, experienced instructors or company
employees.
5
I know how to learn from difficulties and failures. The instructors allow me to
practice and my work will be checked by them. When I fail at something, I get
the opportunity to learn from it and can improve yourself to give best.
Next, I leanred professional behavior. My college life is quite different from
professional working life. I have to learn discipline if I don't want to be late for
work, the trainers may mark me absent which will have a bad effect on
internship report. I learned respecting others and their ideas. I also had a chance
to experience problem solving skills from your superiors.
Furthermore, I learned how to listen and ask questions. As a student, it is
indispensable to listen to and receive the instructions, advice, experience of the
instructors, otherwise mistakes will happen. Asking questions is a great way for
co-workers to know more about each other. Additionally, the experienced
employees in the company are friendly and they are usually happy to assist and
share ideas with me.
2. What the internship influence the future career plans
The internship helps me to understand my intended future job. Because before
the university entrance exam, I did not have a clear career orientation, then at
the end of the learning process, I might not be clear about the use of what I
study. For this reason, when I did the internship, I was directly exposed to the
job with a clear view of my major. If I don’t feel much excited or not much
relevant, I will try to shift my plans to grow my career. Ican make choices of my
career at this stage, this helps me to know what exactly I want in my career and
plan my career accordingly. It was different from my initial thinking, but at
least I understood what was done and whether it was appropriate or not. I also
understand that employers usually prefer candidates with experience over vague
those.
Thanks to the internship I had a new relationship with people in the company.
The employees and instructors in the company are experienced, so they not only
help with the work during training also may help me with few suggestions about
career even after finishing the internship.
In addition, it builds my confidence which helps me grow as both a worker and
a person. I can prove to the employer the actual job you have done. On the other
hand, once I have done something, I will be more confident. It helps me not to
be scared and timid to work. You will be confident in interviews for future job
and dare to accept job challenges.

3. What is the correlation between the internship and the knowledge learned
from the university
It is necessary to learn with practice. I felt that the knowledge I learned in the
school was more valuable through the internship. I understood that the
knowledge in the school is not worthless and can be completely applied to
future career. The university subjects provided the basic knowledge to work.
Information Technology: Office work requires constant work with Word,
Excel and Powerpoint, which are the basic skills I have learned at college,
such as typing text, creating automatic page numbers, creating automatic
indexes, using the Tab function, create weekly task charts using statistical
functions and designing slides.
Writing Skills: This subject taught me knowledge of writing forms, sentence
structure, punctuation, writing styles as well as common English texts for
writing letters, emails, essays and internship reports in English.
English Presentation Skills: I learned about postures, expressions, gestures
and giving speech when presenting. This helps me have a confident attitude
when communicating, discussing work with people or guests in the
company.
English for Hotel & Restaurant: Although I practiced in an enterprise
environment, the receptionist lessons at the hotel also supported me a lot,
particularly when I communicated with guests. There were some
professional hard skills I could apply such as simple rules for dealing with
guests, useful phrases for asking information and communicating through
telephone. Furthermore, essential soft skills including teamwork skills and
problem-solving skills were also developed.
English for Business: I think this is the most influential subject in the
internship. The course improved greatly my ability to communicate in
English in a wide range of business situations, developed the
communication skills I needed to work in business and enlarged my
knowledge of the business world, namely vocabulary about departments in
an enterprise and business sectors. Also, I learned the business language in
making contact, presenting company, negotiating and reaching agreement.
However, there is still a lot of knowledge that has not been used in the corporate
environment yet, which needs to be used for research and academic purposes
such as phonetics, phonemes, and semantics. Besides, knowledge of social
understanding and soft skills are not taught in schools requires self-study and
7
improvement. I also realized that I still had many weaknesses and felt that
studying in school and anywhere was never enough. When I go back to school, I
need to try to study and practice more to be able to face real work later.
