Liquid-Liquid Extraction Calculations

1) The document presents equations for calculating the solubility of a solute in a solvent using the Kremer equation. 2) It provides values for the coefficients in the Kremer equation for a 0.5% solute solution. 3) The document uses the Kremer equation and provided values to calculate the moles of solute dissolved at equilibrium in 48.238319 liters of solvent.

Hmm... think about it: We did set the temperature, pressure, Kd, amount and quality of the feed to be processed, amount and quality
of the solvent to be used. The only factor left that might affect the achievable recovery is the number of stages our LLE unit has. If
we set N = 7 as given, that should fix the recovery of our operation! It wouldn’t make sense if say: 88% recovery is being achieved
by plant A. While plant B, with exactly the same operating parameters and LLE unit/equipment as plant A, is achieving a lower
recovery of 76.94%.
