16/03/2020 ASSIGNMENT

Imagine you are going on an international tour with a production. (You


can imagine a production or use one that you have been involved with
earlier.) All contracts are made, but you need to send a detailed
technical rider to all the places. It is your task to develop the rider,
ensuring that all the information a receiving house needs is included. To
help you we prepared a standard rider (in attachment) that you can

Production:
70’ Covers
1 Set: The set consists of 6 players: Lead singer, guitarist, bassist, pianist, drummer and
percussionist
The set of percussion contains various instruments (congas, timbales, tamtam, bell
tree, bass drum, cymbals, small instruments)

2 Stage: Darkening: No darkening required


Heating: No heating required
Minimum play Area m x m: 15 x 10
Minimum heigh: 2m

2.1 Rigging/Fly bars: There are no fly movements

2.2 masking: Masking should be the colors of our group logo, No opening curtain.

2.3 extra’s: Risers: One for drumset and one for percussion

Music stands: Drummer and percussionist

3 Power supply:

Power supplies needed: one for each instrument.

4 Lighting: spotlights: at least two for every instrument, three following spots for movement of
the three non-stationary musicians

12 spots can be dimmed

Placement light console: Together with the sound mixing desk for our technician

5 Smoke machines:

We bring our smoke machine, which our technician controls.

6 Video:

No video content

7 Sound: Place mixing desk: preferably behind the audience.


Equipment and numbers: We use our own amplifiers, which are connected to the

sound system.
Each musician should have a monitor.

7.1 intercom:

Intercom needed for our technicians to communicate with the musicians.

7.2 piano: We bring our own electric piano

8 Dressing rooms: The group consists of 8 persons for whom we want to use two heated
dressing rooms with sanitary facilities, warm running water, make-up tables
with well-lit mirrors.

9 Catering: Please provide coffee upon arrival of the technical crew.


Please provide coffee, soft drinks, etc. for 8 persons from 3 hours before the start of
the performance.
Please provide meals for 8 persons to be provided +- 2 hours before the
performance.

10 Times: The arrival time of the technical crew will be confirmed by telephone. We expect
from your theater 2 technicians for loading, unloading, fit-up and lighting. During the
performance we expect 1 technician in the technical booth / on stage for ...
duration performance: 90 min
pause: no pause
build-up: 1 hour
Artists arrive at 4 hours before show
rehearsal / sound check: 1,5 hours before opening doors.
doors open in consultation with the production manager
dismantling: 60 min

10 Safety

Audience should stay at a safe distance.

10.1 Fire safety: There is no smoking on the stage.

11 Parking spaces: Please provide parking space for 8 cars from half an hour before arrival until
an hour after takedown, in a safe place, near the loading dock.

12 Exceptions: Exceptions can be made to some of these technical requirements by prior


arrangement.
