I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson pupils will be able to:
A. read and write unit fractions (M2NS-IIId-76.1)
B. visualize, represent and identify other fractions less than one with denominators 10 and
below (M2NS-IIId-72.2)

C. Show the importance of sharing to others

III. PROCEDURE:
A. PRE-LESSON ASSESSMENT
1. DRILL
Have a drill on the mathematics facts using the Activity Sheet.

3) 6 – 4 = 8) 12 ÷ 6 =

2. REVIEW
Have a review on Division Lessons.
May ara nga 12 ka lubid si Maria nga ginparte sa 4 ang isa ka parte ginhatag niya
kay Jose. Ang isa pa gid kaparte ginhatag kay Leo. Tag isa naman kaparte kanday Nelia
kag Norma. Pila ang nabin nga lubid kay Maria? Tagpila ka lubid ang ginhatag niya
kandai Jose, Leo, Nelia kag Norma?

3. Motivation
Show a delivery boy and let the pupils guess what is inside the box. Ask for 4 volunteers to
guess. Then ask them how they are going to divide equally the Buko Pie. Relate this to the
concept of Fraction.
4. PRESENTATION
Let the pupils watch the short presentation using Multi- media.
Explain the meaning of fraction. Fraction represents part of a whole. The numerator is how
many parts you have. The denominator is how many parts the whole was divided into.
Fractions are written with the numerator over the denominator and a line in between them.
Show them the pictures.

Si Alex, Rey, Jessa kag Annie nagbakal sang isa ka pinggan nga pizza pie. Gintunga nila ini
sa 4 ka palareho nga tunga. Kada isa sa ila nakakuha sang palareho nga parte. Nasdyahan sila sa
pagkaon nila sang pizza pie.
Sabton ang mga pamangkot
Sin-o ang mga bata sa istorya?
Ano ang ila ginbakal?
Pila ka parte ang makuha sang kada isa?
Kada isa bala sa ila nakakuha sang palareho nga parte?
Pila ka tunga ang ginhimu nila sa pizza pie?

6. INDEPENDENT PRACTICE
Group the pupils into 3 working teams and have them perform the task.

Materials: worksheet, crayons
Lantawa ang laragway. Kilalaha ang fractions sang shaded nga parte sa kada isa.

IV. GENERALIZATION
What you have learned today?
Let the pupils to give the generalization.

 I learned that Fraction represents part of a whole. The numerator is how many parts you
have. The denominator is how many parts the whole was divided into. Fractions are
written with the numerator over the denominator and a line in between them.

 Sharing is loving.
V. APPLICATION
Basahon ang fraction sa iya tinaga kag isulat ang iya symbol. Isulat sa papel.
