ME.

Working as a freelance translator/proofreader/style corrector for the last 7 years, 5 years full time,
with the language german, english, spasnish and basque.

Interested in languages and writing. I'm actually learning japanese now, level A2. Nerdy? I’m
passionate about finding the right words, synonims, and expressions to fit the style of a text and
make it attractive and easy to read.

Translating texts of all kinds, could be categorized in two groups: technical, creative

Technical translations: accuracy, consistency

Marketing or creative: freedom, readability, appealing, attractive, informative

Experience:

Technical: software, computer and mobile apps, automotive industry, chemical industry, legal (EU
laws and procedures), finance, instruction manuals

Marketing: websites, product descriptions, company descriptions (how companies present

themselves to the market or clients)
STRENGHTS

- Responsibility: working as a freelancer for years has taught me that I am the only one
responsible for my work, I don’t put the blame on anyone else. If a client is not completely
satisfied I find out a solution with him in a professional and non-personal manner.
- Time managing, organization. Deadlines, believer in organization: organize time and energy
- Empathetic. I am aware that every workgroup and also the clients are very diverse, everyone
has different sensibilities, so I can adapt easily and find a satisfying solution for all

WEAKNESS

- Sometimes can be too direct. I realized in my personal interactions that I sometimes go to

the point too fast or maybe not diplomatic enough. So some people can get offended or take
it as a threatening answer. Of course, it’s just my tendency to go directly to the solution in
the most effective way. However I normally realize it when that happens and I’m not
arrogant so I know how to back up and find a friendlier way to say it.

In 5 years

- Code: develop new skills and be able move towards software development in the next years.
- Japanese: translation or some kind of customer relationships with other countries and
cultures. It’s two open vectors that I have at the moment.

The company:

- Relatively young software company that works under a B2B modell.

- If offers software for companies to manage conversations with clients through ticketing,
keep track of sales, offer good IT support, collaboration software. I’m not sure but it probably
works under a subscription model like a lot of software nowadays.
- I like the fact that the company is trying to make software that’s user friendly, intuitive and
so puts an emphasis on good communication (through interface, clear messages and of
course good customer support).
- The company opened an new office in Berlin in 2016 I believe,
