Crashing Project Schedule Analysis

This document contains a project management assignment for a student named Barry Mamadou Oury. It involves analyzing a case study for Hill Construction to determine the critical path for a project, calculate the probability of finishing within a certain timeframe, and determine how to crash the schedule to meet earlier deadlines. The critical path was found to be 260 days with a 71.23% chance of finishing within 270 days. To crash to 250 days would reduce activity A by 10 days for $15,000. To crash to 240 days would reduce activity D by 10 days for $19,000, for a total crash cost of $34,000.

219.1 229.9 229.9 230
Critical path = A – C – D – G – H – I – L
The completion time is 260 days
2. What is the probability of finishing in 270 days?
Total varience of the critical paths is 319.86
SD= √𝑣 = 17.88
Z = (Due date - Expected date)/ SD

Z = (270-260)/17.88=0.559
Z= 0.559
The probability of finishing the project in 270 days is 71.23%

3. If it is necessary to crash to 250 or 240 days, how would Hill do so, and at
what costs? As noted in the case, assume that optimistic time estimates can be
used as crash times.

 we can reduce activity A by 10 days with a cost of 15,000$ By using

the critical paths on the node with the time project to 250.
 We can reduce the activity D with 10 days with the cost of 19000$,by
using the critical paths on the node with the time project to 240.
so the total is 34000$
