Command and Control Hardware | Radio Frequency Unit (RFU)

ION provides a suite of ruggedized radio solutions housed in an extreme


weather-proof casing. Clients have the flexibility to choose from an array
of models that best fit their communication needs.

ION provides a set of standard tools with the RFU which both simplifies
installation and reduces costs - no specialist tools are required.

→ A pre-fabricated 3m LMR400 jumper cable is supplied with each unit to allow flexibility in installation
while keeping radio frequency loss to a minimum.
→ 2 and 4 inch U bolts allow the unit to be mounted on a majority of a vessels handrails or mounting-pole
fixtures.
→ Each RFU is supplied with a 70m exterior grade cat5e cable with the waterproof end pre-terminated and
capped for protection. The free end of this cable is terminated with a supplied STP RJ45 plug using
regular network termination tools once the RFU has been installed on the vessel.

The RFU Power Supply Unit (PSU) is identical to all RFU models and requires no modification to work with any RFU.
