Abstract:
Generally problems occurs in signals in our daily life electronics such as speaker’s, radios and
blue tooth devices etc. we can use a signal tracer to solve signal problems in electronic devices
in our daily life.
A signal tracer is a piece of electronic test equipment used to troubleshoot radio and
other electronic circuitry. Usually a very simple device, it normally provides an amplifier, and
a loudspeaker, often battery-powered and packaged into a small, hand-held test probe. An
optional diode detector is usually also provided, allowing the detection of amplitude-
modulated signals. We use IC 741 op-amp in the circuit to amplify the signals coming from the
input and capacitors are used stores the electronic energy when the power supply exceeds the
normal use of the circuit and resistors are used to resist the current flow from the battery.
We use transistors in an electronic circuit is as simple switches. In short, a transistor conducts
current across the collector-emitter path only when a voltage is applied to the base. When no
base voltage is present, the switch is off. When base voltage is present, the switch is on. And
finally we use a speakers to hear the out put .
In input the technician injects a test signal into the device under test. Then, by using the signal
tracer, the tech can follow the signal through the various circuits of the radio receiver. So long
as the signal can be heard, the circuitry up to that point is (at least minimally) functional. If the
signal disappears, however, a fault can be assumed to be present in the stage of the circuit just
passed.
