Personal Position Paper

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that everyone has the right to
life and to live in freedom and safety. A girl was given life and protection with the name
Jaymee-Mohini C. Alcuas 17 of age was born on February 21st of 2002 recorded in the
Philippines Statistics Authority. A shy, quiet, curious and artistic young lady whose
hometown is in Lucena City. Her parents Aimee Cadao and Ronsard Alcuas had an older
son but died moments after his birth and two years later they were gifted with a female
child. Due to the complication of her parent’s relationship her mother and father are not
in good terms up to the present time. She was raised and taught well by her grandparents
who was able to reconnect her connection with her mother abroad and accepting her two
step-sisters from her father’s side.

Living with her grandparents confined her with the rule of strictness and over-
protection for she is an only child. Studying for 12 years and served loyalty to Lucena
Hope Academy her alma mater and once being part of the student council, she was glad
to have contributed help to the school. One of her precious memories are during school
field trips where she can bond with friends while exploring. Having an artistic side, her
hobby is drawing and the proudest thing she have ever done was when she did a
commission for someone. That was her first work experience where she received
payment for the drawing she made. One of her greatest happiness was also keeping her
grades high so that one day her mother would be so proud that she might come home to
Philippines to congratulate her daughter. The first time she met her mother was in 2015
although it was just for a month it felt blissful.

Leading a normal life, she is still living in Lucena City where she is currently a
grade 11 student studying at Calayan Educational Foundation Inc. The second school
she had, the first one was just a small school where she hasn’t experienced that much
freedom since the school was located inside a subdivision she cannot go anywhere else.
Being at CEFI she was exposed to a classroom with 30 people. Taking the strand
Accountancy and Business Management and being assigned to the section Roman
Felipe Reyes she met a diversity of people. The section Reyes was like a family full of
friends for her, the bond between each classmates was astonishing. All her classmates
have unique personality and with each one present they made the classroom fun. Even
with all the busy work at school she takes relaxation by doing her hobby which is drawing.

As her goals of becoming an artist fades, she is now set to fulfil her goals to helping
her family with their business. She plans on graduating to be an Accountant or a Business
Administrator that would aid her family business. Her first decision was to be an
Accountant for they prepare, analyze, and check the accuracy of financial information.
You can work in environments like the government, non-profit organizations, and private
businesses. All companies depend on accountants to keep their business running well
and being one makes her feel like the most sought after plus the salary is large. I know
that all of my goals will remain dreams if I do not complete and get into college. Therefore,
I am committed to working hard in school and looking for opportunities that could help me
make my goals a reality.
