Pipe Roughness Values by Material

This document lists pipe absolute roughness values in both inches multiplied by 10-3 and microns or meters multiplied by 10-6 for various materials. Riveted steel has the highest roughness from 36-360 x 10-3 inches and 915-9150 microns. Fiberglass, drawn tubing made of glass, brass or plastic, copper, aluminum, and PVC all have the lowest roughness of 0.06 x 10-3 inches or 1.5 microns. The document sources the data from various hydraulic and pipe references.
