Fearless Mouse Transcript

Narrator: Mice are usually afraid of cats. Is it because cats are bigger? Or want to
eat them? Scientists in Japan say no.

They say cats and mice are genetically1 programmed2 to be enemies3. It


has to do with the sense of smell. The scientists turned off some nasal4
cells in the mouse’s nose. Now the mouse is ready to be friends with the
cat, but do you think the cat wants to be friends with the mouse?
