DCP E-Package Training Report

Palapas National Highschool received the DepEd Computerization Program (DCP) package consisting of 49 computers, 2 laptops, 2 projectors, and a speaker. The school conducted a 6-hour training for faculty led by a CTI trainer to raise ICT literacy and teach operating the DCP. Topics included installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, software, virtualization, and classroom management. After the training, the faculty could operate the DCP system and the ICT room was opened for students, scheduled by subject teachers. The only initial issue was lack of chairs, but a donor provided 49 chairs. The ICT room has since been in use by students and teachers.

TRAINING/DEMO AND ACCEPTANCE OF
DCP E- PACKAGE

DepEd Computerization Program is Department of Education’s project


which aims to enhance teaching-learning process and meet the challenges of the
21st Century with the use of technology.

Our school was one of the luckiest schools who were provided with the
DepEd Computerization Program Package last October 19, 2016. The package was
consisting of 7 Servers and 42 Clients which is a total of 49 Computers. The said
computers were set up by the CTI (Columbia Technologies Inc.) Personnel’s on the
same day it was delivered. Along with the 49 Computers we were also given 2
Accer Travelmate Laptops, 2 Epson Projectors and a Microlab Multimedia
Speaker.

Being one of the recipient schools of DCP Batch 33 our school conducted a
6 hours training/ demo initiated by the CTI – Albay trainor Mr. Mark Anthony
Orendain on the same day that the computers were delivered. The said
Training/demo aims to raise the ICT Literacy of the faculty members of Palapas
National Highschool and provide the basic steps on how to operate the DCP which
will be used by the students.

The following were the inclusions of the 6 hours training:

 Proper Installation of Equipment


 Training on Hardware and Software Maintenance
 Hands on Troubleshooting/system restoration and back Up
 Training on basic Software and Hardware of Host PC and Virtualization Kit
 Training on Desktop Virtualization, set – up and troubleshooting
 Training on Classroom Management Tool
 Orientation on the warranty and helpdesk system reporting procedure.
After the said training the faculty members of Palapas National Highschool

were equipped with the skills that is needed to operate the DCP system.

The ICT Room was then ready for our dear students. Each year level were
given the opportunity to use the computers, provided that they will be handled by
their subject teachers. The schedule was plotted to make sure that the ICT room
will be utilize properly. The only problem we had by then was the chairs to be
used for the ICT Room but thanks to the good heart of the founder of FHM (Feed
Hungry Minds) Mr. Rafael M, Patriarca, he donated 49 chairs for the ICT room last
December 5, 2016.

The ICT Room was already used starting last December and up until the
present. A logbook was provided to make sure that all the students including the
teachers who used the ICT Rooms will be properly recorded.

Students will definitely benefit on the DepED Computerization Program


with the help of teachers who are equipped with the knowledge and skills.

Below are some pictures of the acceptance, installation and training for the
DCP E- Package.
