The bar graph illustrates the worldwide sales of four varieties of digital games (mobile phone
games, online games, console games and, handheld games) between 2000 and 2006.
Overall, it can be clearly seen that handheld games were the most sold-out games and they
became increasingly more popular over the years. Similarly, the sales of online games and
mobile phone games increased whilst the sale of console games declined during the six year
period.
In 2000, handheld games and console games were sold for approximately 12 billion USD
and 6 billion USD respectively. Handheld games steadily increased in sales and reached a
peak of around 17 billion USD in 2006. By contrast, the sales of console games decreased
gradually and dropped to around 3 billion USD in 2006.
Despite hitting the market later, online games (2001) and mobile games (2002) witnessed a
remarkable increase in sales over the next years. Whereas in 2001 over 1 billion USD of
online games was sold, their sales rocketed to 8.5 billion USD in 2006. Similarly, a sharp
rise from 2 billion USD in 2002 to over 7 billion USD in 2006 was seen in the sales of
mobile phone games. (196 words)

The table below gives information on consumer spending on different items in five different
countries in 2002.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons
where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.
The table illustrates percentages of consumer spending in five nations, comprising of three
categories of products and services in 2002.
Overall, the largest proportion of consumer expenditure for each country was for food,
drinks and tobacco. Conversely, the leisure and education section shows the lowest
percentages of spending among the five countries.
With regard to the consumer spending on food, drinks and tobacco, the highest rate of
32.14% belonged to Turkey, followed by Ireland with 3.23% less. The percentages of three
remaining countries ranged from 15.77% to under 19% with Sweden standing at the lowest
position. It is noticeable that this rate was even more than the gross value of two other
products and services in every country.
In terms of two other categories, the patterns of expenditure rate were similar. Italy people
spent 9% of their money on clothing and footwear, while the figures for this section of other
four economies were in a range of 5.4% to 6.63%. Leisure and education attracted the least
of consumer spending in all five countries, with all the rates under 4.35%, belonging to
Turkey as the highest figure of the category. (189 words)
