1. I haven’t been the “excellent” type of student before, but I had tried different

activities to prove that I could also offer something aside from academic-related

achievements. I was once a photojournalist and I enjoyed capturing moments

and faces of my subject. I also tried dancing. Of all, this has been my favorite

because I knew I was good at it. Our group had competed, not only inside the

school, but as well as regional competitions. When I graduated from college,

at first all I ever wanted was to get a job and yes I did. I worked in an accounting,

auditing and bookkeeping service company which I think helped me understand

what were written in the books when applied in a real situation, and that was

also the moment I realized that I need to learn more. As to personal

achievement, I have proved to myself that I could do whatever I want if I put

interest and effort to it.

2. When I was a kid, I would always say I’d like to be a dentist. I’d write it in my

autograph book and tell my mother about it. There was a time when my father

asked me what would I want to be when I grow up, and I answered the same,

a dentist. He told me, he dreamed of being an accountant and a lawyer, if only

he had the chance to go back to the time and make everything better, and that

is to study well. He said, he would see me as someone who would fulfil his

dreams. I tried to think do lawyers do? He would tell me stories of my

grandfather, of how good he is as a man and a lawyer. I told myself, I also

wanted to be a good person but not a lawyer. When I was in highschool, a day

came when I remembered the conversation I had with my dad and suddenly

thought of wanting to be a lawyer. My dad told me that Accountancy is the best

pre-law course to take when wanting to proceed to College of Law. I took

Accountancy, but suddenly I failed, and graduated from the course

Management Accounting. I didn’t have the title “Certified Public Accountant”,

but that didn’t stop me from wanting to be a lawyer because I said I wanted to

be a good person and a lawyer.

3. Honestly speaking, I don’t have a broad idea of what I am getting myself into,

but I know to myself that I wanted to learn and know more. When people hear

of a lawyer, it automatically says as a justice server, but I know it’s more of that.

Because once I asked myself, why do suspected criminals or law offenders

have the right to get a lawyer? Is it to justify their committed crime? Shouldn’t

they be punished for what they commit without a trial? But now I realize that

being lawyer should not just be logical and analytical, but should also display a

great deal of creativity to solve a problem and to be persuasive and be able to

read others.
