Introduction
Established at the World Chiropractic Congress in Sydney, Australia (1988), the World
Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) quickly gained momentum as it expanded across 88 countries
and became the official representative of the chiropractic profession on an international scale.
The WFC is recognized as a global non-profit organization that strives to empower, support,
promote and advance chiropractic innovations and trending practices. (World Federation of
Chiropractic, 2009).
Overview of Objectives
EPIC 2019 is designed to bring together leaders and international experts to discuss and debate
the trends in chiropractic education with an emphasis on the spine. Diverse lecturers and
interactive workshops will enhance attendees experience by developing the skills and know how
while also allowing for better retention of the innovations presented. The speakers will be
addressing subject material that will engage both national leaders in education and practicing
chiropractors alike.
By attending the EPIC 2019 conference in Berlin, Germany our physician, and by extension his
practice, will receive profitable returns in the following areas:
Professional Development –
Education credits toward bi-annually quota for practice.
Networking –
Engaging experts and developing rapport with practicing chiropractors on a
global scale.
Best Practices –
Up-to-date standards of practice as well as innovative techniques that would
benefit the practice.
Training and Skill Development –
Practical workshops to allow for integration of established skills and
development in specific areas.
Strategic Benefits –
Health reform implementation is here, and implementation is vital to adapting
requirements and opportunities that can optimize community health. Gathering
insight to the evolving environment, while learning what strategies, tactics and
organizational capacities are being adopted by chiropractic clinics globally.
Knowledge Transference –
Seamless transition of learned material into procedures and policy to benefit
the practice by way of an informative meeting upon return.

Biography
Estimated Expenses
Return on Investment
The costs in the expense sheet lay out the most practical and affordable travelling expenses. The
flight chosen is time and cost efficient, along with choosing the airbus for transportation to and
from the Toronto Airport. Before travelling, remember to have an updated passport and be aware
that there is a time difference, Berlin is 6 hours ahead. When travelling while in Berlin, the taxi
service is the most reasonable, as you will not be located within the appropriate public
transportation zone for the bus, train, or subway.
Unfortunately, we could not take advantage of the discounted rooms at the conference, as all
rooms have been booked. However, we have found a bed and breakfast close to the conference at
an appropriate rate, with excellent reviews. While there may be a language barrier sight-seeing or
while touring Berlin, English will be used at the conference and the hotel booked.

Benefits of Attending
The quote “Sharpen the Saw: a dull axe won’t cut a tree nearly as effectively as a sharp one”
(Covey, 2015) gives us the idea to taking a break from work to sharpen your skills is one of the
best ways to excel within your profession. Removing yourself from the office environment can
lead to fresh thinking and producing new initiations for our office that will give us a competitive
edge here in London, Ontario. By attending this specific conference, you will have the
opportunity to network on a global scale, while receiving insight from profession experts and this
allows for development of skills. The WFC is hosting a plethora of workshops that speak to your
interests and are thought to be beneficial to the clinic’s advancement:
Impact to Practice
Matrix Schedule
Rescheduling appointments and clinics will not be an issue as we knew of these conference dates
ahead of time and informed all our clients.
Additional Clinical Tasking
Personnel workload for the absence of our chiropractor will benefit our team as it allows us to
update patient charts, all equipment as required, sanitation to common areas and exam rooms,
and taking inventory of stock without disruption to the day-to-day routine of the clinic.
In Case of Emergency
The office will utilize an on-call locum doctor during the duration of regular office hour
disruption to ensure strict, predetermined and emergent appointments are accommodated.

Dynamic Tape

“A focus on movement, function, and load allows us to get effective results. Dynamic Tape has
been specifically developed to provide strong mechanical assistance externally to:
If the business was to use and sell Dynamic Tape this would set us apart from other Chiropractic
offices using Kinesiology tape. This product will fit in perfectly with Dr. Rodney wanting to
expand his knowledge on sports medicine and rehab. Using a new and unique product will show
that we are a set ahead of our competitors, with the potential to bring in new clients as well as
make a profit off of the product.

Serola Biomechanics
“In 1988, Dr. Serola discovered that patients' strength increased after sacroiliac stabilization.
After years of research, he developed a theory based on biomechanics and the kinematic chain.
The underlying principles are the proprioceptive responses of flexion/extension within the
cranio-sacral mechanism, the body's innate system. Postural distortions accompany specific
muscle imbalances. Back, hip, and leg pain and weakness often come from instability at the
sacroiliac joint, which is the center of the body's structure. A distinct pattern appeared; including
SI instability, increased lumbosacral angle and straightened A/P spinal curves.” (Serola
Biomechanics, 2019)
If the business was to promote and sell Serola Biomechanic products, the Serola Sacroiliac Belt
in particular. This belt would have many positive benefits on a variety of medical conditions
including hip and back pain, sports injury pain and even pregnancy pain. This product fits in
perfectly with Dr. Rodney wanting to expand his knowledge on sports medicine and rehab as
well as expanding his treatments to pregnant women.
