INTRODUCTION
As a response of the Tagbilaran City Environment and National
Resources Office’s: A Probes Drain Pipe Pumping out Dark Stinky
Water regarding their investigation on identifying the establishments
owning drainage that pumps water out to Tagbilaran City shore that
most likely cause several dead fish in city coast of Tagbilaran. After
hearing, we as a USACID (United Students Aiming for Community
Improvement and Development) are alarmed on this catastrophe
issue. We planned and created an Eco project regarding this problem
Proper Drainage Management for a Safe Community it is a great move
to manage the establishments who are having its drainage that
pumps water waste through the sea. This project seeks to create unity
among those people whose part of the company to take and provide
an action regarding these improper drainage disposals.

RATIONALE
Improper drainage disposal has a wide impact on our
environment and can cause serious problems like fish kills,
epidemics, floods, and other related problems. According to NEDA
Board Resolution No. 5, series of 1994 which stated the national
policy for urban sewerage and sanitation. The country's rapid
population increase coupled with industrialization efforts produced
pressures to the capacity of the environment to absorb generated
wastes. Untreated wastes are hazards to the health, environment and
the community. Epidemics, fish kills, floods, and other related
disasters on record proved the imminence brought by poor
management of wastewater which claimed several lives and
debilitated several people mostly affecting children. Wastewater, if
not properly handled will further reduce the remaining limited
quantity of good water to the detriment of all. Proper Drainage
Management is an important act to alleviate these harmful effects in
our environment. By properly disposing of the wastewater in the right
place with the help planning with the Sanitary Engineers because they
can be a great help for this problem. Our Eco project, Prosperous
Environment: Proper Drainage Management for a Safe Community is
a simple solution for this alarming problem and it can make the
places in the city, prosperous and safe community.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Prosperous Environment: Proper Drainage Management for a Safe
Community primary objectives are the following.
To identify establishments which owns a drainage that pumps
out waste water through the city coast. Choosing at least three
factories to set up proper drainage.
To coordinate on the three chosen factories to implement
proper drainage through the help of our department USACID.
To lessen the number of fish kill and other related issues and to
help maintaining the coast clean and unstained.
This problem is currently a rampant case especially in
Tagbilaran. We need to provide a solution for this kind of issue to
have a safety and prosperous environment. Having this kind of Eco
project, Prosperous Environment: Proper Drainage Management for a
Safe Community it will be a great step in maintaining the beauty of
the Province of Bohol.

METHODOLOGY
Visiting different factories and identifying which
establishments own a drainage that pumps waste water through the
city coast.
Planning and setting up of establishments that needing of
properly constructed drainage system.
Cleaning of contaminated sea water and marginalizing the
security of the affected area.
