I. OBJECTIVE:
By the End of the activity, participants will be able to:
a. Link their learning style with strategies on how to learn new skills
and information
II. SUBJECT MATTER
A. Topic: Activity 8: learning strategies
B. Reference: MYDev Project Skills
C. Materials: Manila paper, markers, tape, Handout 1.6: Learning My Way
A. Review/ Motivation
Ask the learners about the previous lesson, ask What they learn
Ask the students if they really understand the past lessons
B. Motivation
The facilitator will read the scenario and learners think about the approach
to learning they might take if they were new worker.
Scenario:
You were recently hired in a food catering business. There are many new
things you need to learn policies, procedures and protocol at work; the use
of utensils, equipment and kitchen tools you have not operated before;
and the processes involved in preparing and preserving food, etc.
Question: given your learning style, what strategies will you use to learn all
of these new things?
1. Activity
Ask the learners to go to handout 1.6: Learning My Way: Read it
together and have them review and add strategies that they think were
not on the list

Pair the participants from different learning styles groups and have
them practice similar statements to those found at the end of Handout
1.6: Learning My Way so they begin to get comfortable with expressing
how they learn.

2. Analysis
Ask the learners:
a. How was the activity?
b. Have you enjoyed the activity?
c. can you reflect the learning strategies that you do?
d. Select a style that is weak for you and share ideas with classmates for
improving that learning style
3. Abstraction
The teacher will discuss the learning strategies and tips on how to improve
your learning
4. Application
How are vales, skills, qualities and people’s support important in achieving
one’s goal? Give some examples from your own experience.
Based on what you’ve learned in our discussion, what kind of learning
strategies that will help you improve? And how can you apply it?

III. Evaluation
1. Give at least 5 strategies that you use to learn new skills and information.
2. Emphasize the importance about your learning style.

IV. Assignment
1. Study the next topic the learning new skills
2. List the importance on applying the learning new styles
