How to Use This Manual

The Electronic Service Manual disc contains the complete factory repair manuals
for your vehicle, presented as electronic .pdf files. You will need to install the
Adobe Acrobat Reader, included on the CD, to view these files. The files of the
repair manuals are organized by chapters with abbreviations for chapter titles (i.e.
“ax” for “Automatic Transaxle”).

As there is no index file, navigating the directories and files manually may be
difficult at first. We recommend you use the Search feature described below to
find what you’re looking for.

How to Find What You’re Looking For

Besides navigating manually, the next easiest way to find what you're
looking for on the CD is to use the "Search" feature in Acrobat Reader 6
described below. Note earlier versions do not have this feature, so please make
sure you have Adobe Acrobat Reader version 6.0 installed before proceeding.

1. Insert your ESM disc if you have not done so already.

2. Open Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0
3. Under menu “Edit” in Acrobat, select “Search…” You should see a search
panel appear on your left.
4. Type in your search query in the box provided (i.e. “Air Conditioning”)
5. In the drop down menu "Where would you like to search?” check "All
PDF documents in"
6. From the drop down menu below “All PDF documents In”, find and
select your CD drive.
7. Check any appropriate options, i.e. “Whole words only”.
8. Click the “Search” button. Acrobat will locate all the files on the ESM disc
containing your search query. Click on any of the results to expand and
view the files.

HINT: Try clicking “Use Advanced Search Options” on the bottom to perform
more advanced searches.
