Travelling is and it has been always an excellent opportunity to acquire more


knowledge, education and culture form other countries. The main purpose of this
essay is to present some of the arguments for and against travelling to English
speaking countries when study English.

On the one hand, many people argue that travelling to an English speaking country is
the best opportunity to improve your English as a student. The more you are in contact
with the culture, the more you are able to be part of it. Moreover, it is said that
journeys educate, so whilst travelling as well as exploration we can make our
knowledge wider. By this, we become more experienced and ready to cope with
surrounding world if we learn something while being in journey. It has been proved
that travelling is one of the best solutions for boredom, so that, meanwhile you pick
more knowledge in English, you have a great time in other place apart from book and
the school.

On the other hand, travelling has its disadvantages. Firstly, you have to be wealthy
enough to have the opportunity to catch a plane and go to other country, either by bus
it is expensive for some people. Secondly, if you do not know too much English, you
could be exposed to robbery or to be cheated. Thirdly, Most journeys last very long
and it can make us feel tired, so that it is that fatigue that could make you be less
aware of learning something. And fourthly, you could get embarrassed when you
speak broken English to a native and that person neither helps you to improve your
knowledge nor brings you the opportunity of committing mistakes.

Summing all this up, it is known that traveling is not affordable for everyone, but it
brings many possibilities not only in learning and improving your English but also in
being a more knowledgeable person. I firmly believe that traveling, besides its negative
points, always gives you more benefits than drawbacks.
